Botswana set to begin beef export
 

With European and Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries targeted as key export markets, the commodity based trade (CBT) of beef in Botswana's Ngamiland is set to begin.

 

 

Fidelis Molao Botswana's minister of agricultural development and food security said the official launch of the CBT of beef was in making since years as the country had lost several key export markets due to an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in 2012. Since then, the government has been hard at work to create a geographic FMD-free zone and work on its SADC-adopted CBT strategy.
