Best Node.js Frameworks for Web Application

Node.js' implementation in 2009 was a quantum leap in the growth of the internet. The designers had to use various languages for server-side and client-side scripting before their creation. But node.js produced it possible for the development of scalable server-side apps to use JavaScript (the language traditionally used only for frontend). Not only that, Node.js also brought many advantages to the table, including characteristics such as event-driven, non-blocking input / output model, and asynchronous programming. This inspired designers to embrace this new technology and made it worldwide brands like Netflix, PayPal, Linkedin, eBay, Nasa, Uber, Medium and Yahoo's hot favourite backend technology.

Now, Node.js has a huge community around the globe and this community has created a number of frameworks to improve this server-side development environment. These frameworks provide incredible templates, libraries and reusable elements that eliminate the repetitive process that makes the construction fast and effective. Here we've produced a list of top Node.js frameworks commonly used by the designers of node.js that you choose for your next project.

Express.js :

In 2010 TJ Holowaychuk designed Express.js, which was later purchased by StrongLoop and then IBM. It is influenced by Sinatra, which is why it is minimal but packed with feature plugins. It is also one of the oldest node.js frameworks, supported by an enormous society and one of the parts of the commonly used technology stack –MEAN.

Hapi js :

Hapi is a node.js configuration-centered framework loaded with features such as built-in input validation, caching, authentication, and more to make web applications more effective. Walmart created it to manage traffic on Black Friday in 2011. The team used Express.js previously, but it didn't work for them, which inspired them to create an all-new node.js framework.

Despite being developed at the top of Express, it has become one of its well-known competitors. Hapi.js operates excellent with big teams working on distinct parts without disturbing the entire implementation. Some big websites like Paypal, Mozilla, Disney and Conde Nast have used Hapi.

Meteor js :

Meteor.js is one of the Node.js frameworks most frequently used owing to its capacity to use the same code on both the application's server and client side. This makes the construction of separate libraries, APIs, drivers and module managers simpler and quicker as it avoids the setup. It also provides isomorphic APIs to interact between front-end and back-end without causing much trouble to developers in managing client-server management and server session.

Another advantage of using Meteor is that it has tons of its own NPM packages and has some excellent built-in characteristics. Atmosphere.js has more than 2,600 intelligent packages in its official repository. And like Express and Hapi, there's a enormous developer community and documentation community. Meteor's only drawback is that it does not support the SQL database.

Loopback :

LoopBack is another common framework for Node.js constructed on top of Express.js. It is constructed and maintained by the same StrongLoop business that kept Express for a long time. LoopBack is an API framework that enables developers with little or no coding to generate vibrant end-to-end APIs.

With most databases–Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, MongoDB, SOAP and more–it offers easy integration with backend. One of the great things about this framework is that it comes with easy CLI and built-in API explorer enabling API documentation to be generated. LoopBack is used by brands like GoDaddy, Symantec and Sapient.

Adonis js

Adonis.js is a simplicity-focused framework that creates stable and scalable apps. Laravel is influenced by it, which brings to Node.js some of its values such as dependency injection and service suppliers.

For better development experience, Adonis focuses on clean codes, efficiency, velocity and consistency in API. It utilizes ES2015 to prevent spaghetti code, as well as ensuring that designers do not have to waste time writing callbacks. Another excellent thing about this system is that it offers service suppliers, i.e. parts of the first party to decrease the lines of code, making the method of growth quicker.

Koa :

A fresh development by the Express team is the self-proclaimed next-generation web framework for node.js. It is intended with the idea to provide web applications and APIs with a narrower, more expressive and robust structure. As it leverages updated JavaScript characteristics such as async / wait and generators, it is considered a futuristic version of Express. It cancels the callbacks using the async feature and increases error handling.

Koa is more modular than Express, making it customizable. Its core is the middleware kernel, unlike the express kernel that contains the full application framework. This enables you to begin with the fundamental implementation and add the characteristics as you continue to evolve.

Wrapping up :

So how are you choosing the correct one for your project? It clearly begins by knowing the requirements of your project. We assist our customers evaluate their requirements as a web development business and clarify the advantages and drawbacks of the frameworks as well. This enables customers get a clear picture of the technology being used. For example, if you want to construct backend APIs in conjunction with frontend (Angular, React or Vue), Meteor is the perfect framework.
