LED Lights: Efficient, Powerful and Flexible

Small, powerful, energy efficient and safe, LED lights are the latest in technological advancement. More durable than traditional light bulbs and with a long lifespan, these smart lights are the perfect solution for power saving. Read on to find out why you need to make the switch

Efficiency and Longevity

Using 90% less power than incandescent light, LEDs decrease the use of energy and power. They are bright and dramatically bring down costs in terms of power bills and replacements. These light bulbs can last up to 60,000 hours which is far more than the average 1500 hours of traditional lights. Even with constant use, it can burn for close to 7 years before it needs to be changed. Since they emit light in the desired direction they reduce the need for diffusers and reflectors. So although an LED may seem pricier, the fact that it doesn’t require too much maintenance and that it lasts really long makes it a worthwhile investment. As a newcomer in the world of lighting, it is constantly being improved and updated to produce even better and brighter light bulbs that reduce the need for too much electricity. Its operating efficiency makes it a preferred choice for homes.

Safety and Environment

Incandescent or halogen lights emit 90% of their energy in the form of heat which can be a potential danger. Hot to touch, theses lights can lead to burns as well as release toxic materials into the environment. On the other hand, LEDs barely generate any heat and are cool to touch even after it has been left to burn for a couple of hours. They are resistant to breakage and sturdier since they are not made of glass. Made of non- toxic materials, these light bulbs are safe and considered environmentally friendly. Free of mercury and lead, they are environmentally durable since they last long and require minimum maintenance or replacements.  Even the light emitted is low in ultraviolet and infrared rays and its efficient performance ensures a wider span of consumption. With LED lights, less power is consumed and it is available in different colours which can be mixed to produce a larger number of colour choices.

Multiple Uses

LED lights have a greater variety of applications. They can be used in different rooms and for different purposes. This technology is being used even in televisions, smart phones and display boards. Focused lights, task lighting, recessed downlights, accent lights, night lights and desk lamps are some of the many options available in LED light fixtures.  Some innovative uses include LED virtual sky panels that can replace ceilings in homes, solar powered sunroofs and versatile light strips that dazzle in a variety of colours.

With growing popularity, LED lighting technology looks like a welcome change in the future of lighting.
