According to the Los Angeles Times, the strategy of social media campaigns came under hot water when Twitter found several identical messages using identical links and hashtags which finally led the social media giant to suspend almost 70 accounts. Some of the accounts have been suspended permanently while some could regain access after proper verification. It was also found that many of the accounts were created only in the last two months and misleading the people through fake identities. The nature of the contents posted by the accounts of Michael Bloomberg was violating the platform Manipulation policy of Twitter. The policy was created in the year 2016 looking at the meddling of Russia in the elections.

The campaigning strategy of Michael Bloomberg has been made by investing a huge budget to promote the presidential candidate in the elections. The strategy includes hiring the experts who could entice and influence the people on social media along with deputy organizers.  The deputy field organizers could make more than $25 00 per month by promoting Bloomberg and the contents and messages were posted by these deputy field organizers which finally violated the Twitter policies as revealed by some of the reports.

Bloomberg wanted to influence his allure his voters and potential voters in the same way as Donald Trump did in his presidential elections. He employed a large number of social media influencers to reach people all across the country. It took a huge investment alongside the Democratic candidate but he has to face criticism when it was recognized that identical messages from identical accounts have been posted several times. It compelled Twitter to take firm actions against these accounts which were a big blow to the campaigning strategy.
