4 Things to Keep in Mind for Responsive HTML Email Design

Most of the emails are read on mobile these days, and it is a trend that continues to grow. However, mobile users are very selective while opening the mails. More than half of them will not even open an email that is not optimized for the mobile. If you want to avoid losing clients on the smartphone, you should use responsive email marketing HTML designs. Here are the best practices for the responsive HTML email design:

1-Single Column Layout

In the mobile screen, the multiple column layouts appear to be quashed, cluttered and challenging to navigate. The single-column layout makes the email compatible with any device and easy to read even if it is viewed with different mail clients. The use of a single column layout simplifies the design and also highlights the critical parts of the content.

2-Fonts Should Be Easy to Read

Choose fonts that are easy to read. If the font size is too small, most of the recipients are going to skip the emails. No one wants to strain the eyes while perusing the tiny text.

The minimum pixels used should be 13 or 14 pixels for the text and          20-22 for the titles. It makes the email much more readable on the screen.

 3-Put Important Content First

You must place the critical call to action or the valuable offer above the fold. Those who are reading the mobile usually go through the emails quickly and may scroll down, looking for the offer.

If you don’t have much room for all the content, make sure that you include the essential part of the message. If there are too many offers in the mail, consider reducing their number. Think about the user experience and keep what is most important.

Trimming down the content of the email allows the reader who is on the go to remain focused on the message and will lead to better conversion rates.

4-Buttons

The buttons should be large enough for the users to tap them quickly. The CTA on the button should be 40X40 pixels to allow the reader to engage with the email soon.

Hyperlinking should be avoided and cluttering several links together should be avoided too!

Finally,

Keeping these things in mind will make responsive email marketing success. The users will be able to open the mails easily on their mobiles, read the offers and take the desired action as well.
