●    Open control panel app:

●    Close the dialogue box:

●    Open the printer properties:

In the upper side of the dialogue box, there are many options. You will have to choose the "advanced" tab to enable the printer history service. This idea will allow you to check short term history. If you want to check the long term history, then you have to put in some more efforts. To view the long term printer history, you can follow the below-given steps.

  • Press the window + X button together and wait for the new window.
  • Now select the “event viewer” option from the window.
  • Now you have to choose the “applications and services log” from the results.
  • After that, use arrow keys to locate the "Microsoft" option and then select "Windows."
  • After that, use your mouse to scroll down the list and locate "print service".
  • Here you have to choose and right-click on the "operational log".
  • Here you will find the option to change the settings in the “properties” menu.
  • A new window will trigger on your screen, and you have to locate the "enable logging" option.
  • This will ask you to set a size of the log. It is good to choose the largest log size to see the long term print history.
  • Now your window will keep the record of your previous printing jobs.
  • You have to click on the "OK" button to complete the procedure in terms of how to view printer history.

Note:

To check the printer history, you will have to get into the "event viewer" window again. In the window, you have to select the "print service" category and then the operational log. In the "operational log" window you can check all the completed and also failed printing jobs of long terms.
