How Businesses can Use Skype to Set Contact Privacy Relationship and Block Someone

Whenever you add someone to your skype account, by default, the contact lands up in the colleague’s category. A little information could be seen by this relationship, while, on the other hand, the‘workgroup’ category can see a little more detailed information. Thus, to block someone on Skype for business, follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Enter your ID and Password to login to your Skype account.
  2. In the ‘Contacts List,’ select the ‘Relationship Tab.’
  3. From here, right-click on your contact and set ‘Privacy Relationship.’
  4. Put down your location settings and hide them right under your name.
  5. Click and enable ‘Privacy’ mode.
  6. Block whosoever you want to, from the contacts.

Whenever you log in to your Skype for business, the location automatically gets updated. To hide the location next time, go through the process above, and your location will not long appear to others.

Enabling ‘Privacy Mode’

The contacts in which you block will no longer be able to access your information or location, but this is not the same for your other contacts. To change the settings and to enable the ‘Privacy Mode,’ follow the steps below:

  1. Tap on the ‘Gear’ icon and select ‘Tools’ from the list.
  2. Select ‘Options’ and an options dialog box will appear.
  3. Click the ‘Status’ button.
  4. You’ll have to choose between the two options which appear next. They are:
  5. ‘I want everyone to be able to see my presence regardless of system settings.’

and

  • ‘I want the system administrator to decide.’
  • Change your settings to ‘Do Not Disturb’ if you want no-one to reach you.
  • Another setting to prevent your contacts from reaching you via phone in Skype for business is:
  • Go to your ‘Contacts’ list.
  • Right-click on the contact name and tap ‘Change Privacy Relationship.’
  • Click on the ‘Blocked Contacts.’
