How to Fix Error Windows License Will Expire Soon On Windows 10

Installing Windows 10 on your operating system is a straightforward process for all. Downloading and installing Windows updates from Microsoft Store is also very easy. Windows 10 updates are available for free. However, sometimes you may get a notification alert saying, “Your Windows License will expire soon; you need to activate Windows in PC settings.” In this article, we will show you how you can fix this issue.

Restart Windows Explorer Process

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Tap and hold the Control + Alt + Delete button on your keyboard and then select “task Manager.”
  2. In the task Manager, move to the “Process” button and then locate “Windows Explorer,” right-tap on it and then select “End task.”
  3. Select “File” and then click “New Task.”
  4. In the search field, you need to type “explorer.exe” and then tap “Enter” or tap “OK.” After that, UI windows will appear on your screen.

If the Control + Alt + Delete hotkey is not working on your Windows 10 operating system then you need to do another troubleshooting.

Now you only need to perform the single command in the command prompt to complete the process.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Tap the Windows + R button on your keyboard to launch the Win + X menu and then select “Command prompt” as admin.
  2. In the Command Prompt page, you need to type “slmgr –rearm” and then tap “Enter” to reboot your computer.
  3. Many users reported that they had fixed this issue by performing “slmgr /upk.”
  4. After the above process, you need to restart your device.

Disable Service

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Tap the Windows +R button on your keyboard to open the Run command prompt.
  2. In the Run command-line, you need to type “service.msc” and then tap the “Enter” button or tap “OK.”
  3. When “Service” windows appear on your screen, find “Windows License Manager Service.” Then, double-tap to launch its “Properties.”
  4. In the Properties. Go to the “Startup type” and choose “Disabled.” In case this service is presently running then tap on the “Stop” option.
  5. Now tap “Apply” and then hit “OK” to save your change.
  6. Find “Windows Update” service, then double-tap to access its properties. Now stop service and then set it to startup type “Disabled.”
  7. After the above process, you need to restart the device and see if the issue has been resolved.
