Overview of Shear and Reduction Gear Box Tools: what makes them useful?

Press breaks and shears are two of the manufacturing instruments or machines used to make metal products. For bending sheet, a press break is used while shears are used for cutting, trimming or clipping metals. A Reduction Gear Box is your sophisticated manual break used for bending your sheet metal.

Until the 1950's, mechanical breaks in the press were used in the advent of sophisticated technology, including machine computerization. This development led to the development of hydraulic machines and a popularity of hydraulic press breaks. Hydraulic breaks are reliable, accurate, low energy consumption and safer.

More technological developments have paved the way for pneumatic and servo-electric presses used for bending low tonnage metals. In industrial sites where the production effort is not that high, pneumatic press brakes are commonly employed. On the other hand, due to their programmable working speed, Reduction Gear Box are designed for high accuracy.

There are many things to see when buying a press break, the size and capacity of which are one. You need to understand how big the material you deal with is and multiply it by two or three times.

A small press break is able to bend metals of less than 25 tons (tones of pressure per meter of length). If you therefore work with hundreds of tons of raw materials with a working length of more than 10 feet, go to large models. If you are a business neophyte, consult technicians who can give you an idea of what your purchase will be against.

Besides bending metals, cutting or shearing metal sheets using the shears are another common manufacturing process. The advantages of the shears are their ability to cut flat sheets in a straight line and their flexibility to make comparatively small cuts. This is possible because the shears' blades can be mounted at a certain angle which reduces the required force.

Aluminum, brass, bronze and steel are commonly sheared materials. Shearing on sheets, strips, bars, plate and even corner stock can be carried out. All actual shearing components are hydraulic shearing machines, but caution is needed during operation. Maintaining the blades sharp not only increases efficiency but also prevents off shooting. Make sure all moving components are lubricated and clean. If the right amount of hydraulic fluid in the machine is not maintained, it may lead to damage, so you should always be sure the fluid remains at the right level.

There are several types of shears on the market, depending on your specific requirements. These are shavings with alligators, bench shears, guillotine shears, power shears, neckless shears and tin snips.

Learn the specific applications of these machines, compared with what you need. The success of greater productivity and lower cost means a good fit between your needs and the ability of your equipment. Failure to match the work type will entail only additional expenses and also slow down your production level.

It is wise to invest in equipment that is more capable than you need. This will enable you to expand further without necessarily purchasing additional tools. Safety is important as well. Make sure your operator knows exactly how the machine is running, and what buttons to press when the damage is removed.
