Seven mistakes not to make when designing a logo

Your company logo ensures you have a brand image, and people will recognize your company by just looking at the logo of your company. You need to guarantee that your logo will positively influence the audience and avoid these errors. You have to check and recheck that you haven't made these errors, Design Pro Studios swears by them.

Error 1: Your logo is copied or stolen

Actually, this point shouldn't be an issue. You should never ever steal another company’s logo.  Unfortunately, too often, this error appears where the creators have used large logos. If your fraud is noticed, it will be expensive. Stay away from the logos of other companies at all costs.

Error 2: Your logo is made of stock material

Avoid using purchased stock materials. The probability that these have already been used by another company is exceptionally high. The use of clip arts from Microsoft products are merely unprofessional and definitely does not reflect the values of your company.

Error 3: Your logo is too complicated

Often times, logos are too complicated. The actual statement of the company is simply lost in all the creative "chaos." Think about an idea and focus your energy on it. The rule is the simpler, the better!

Error 4: Your logo has too many colors

Minimize your logo to a color or two. The more colors you choose, the more difficult it becomes to find the right tone. Also, keep in mind that your logo will probably have to work in one color (often necessary for transparencies) or in black and white (stamp, fax, etc.).

Error 5: Your logo is made up of too many fonts

Choosing the right font is a thing in itself. There are tons of fonts out there, but few are right for your business. Pay attention to what the competition is doing. Companies often use a typical font. Also, commit to just one font. Less is more.

Error 6: Your logo is not scalable

Is your logo easy to read, even in the smallest form? Can it be used on your website? What about stamps? Ensure the designed logo is scalable and doesn't just look and work well in one size!

Error 7: Your logo does not reflect your company’s motto

It is easy to get a cheap logo these days. But does it also reflect the value of your company? Is it as unique as your company? Is it tailored to your business philosophy? Think about these points and make every effort to ensure that they are conveyed in your logo.

Take care of these points, and your company's image is all good, logo wise, at least!
