Whether you use earphones to listen to music on your mobile phone while traveling, watch your favourite shows on your laptop at night, play games with your friends on your phone or just answer business calls, buying the right earphones is important for a seamless audio experience. But with the plethora of headphones available in the market today, selecting the right headphones can be a challenging task, especially since when you buy mobile phones online or at the store, the box usually does not come with manufacturer earphones any more, leaving you to choose the earphone you want to use.

Whether you are a DJ, a student, a music professional, or just an ardent admirer of music, choosing the right earphones is important for an optimal audio experience. While everyone has a personal preference for the type of earphones they want to buy, to help you make an informed purchase decision we have listed the various types of headphones available for you to choose from.

In-ear earphones: These are also known as earbuds and are available in two variations: the ones that sit in the peripherals of your ear cavities and the ones that get stuffed into the ear canals. The first kind could be painful since it can put too much pressure on the ear foldings. The second kind, on the other hand,is usually more comfortable because of its silicon tip and can give you a better audio experience if it fits you right.

The second type of in-ear earphones come with noise cancellation or noise reduction features and can provide you with an enriching audio experience. However, it is not advisable to use these earphones while commuting as you may not be able to hear the traffic and get into an accident.

On-ear earphones: On-ear earphonesare the ones thatsit on  your outer ears. These headphones are suitable for listeners with a small head or small ears since they are lighter and more convenient than over-ear headphones.

Over-ear headphones: These headphones enclose your ears and are usually big and heavy. These are also known as headphones because of their headbands. These are recommended for listeners looking for comfort and long periods of listening, since it provides a great audio experience by covering most of your ears.

The biggest drawback of these types of earphones is that they are not as easy to carry as in-ear or on-ear headphones.

Wireless earphones: We have all struggled at least once with the arduous task of untangling our earphones after fishing them out of our bag. To make our lives easier, technology has introduced wireless earphones to save us the daily struggle of untangling our earphones. These wireless headphones with mic are useful for listening to music while jogging as well as talking to your friends while keeping your hands free.

True wireless earphones: These types of earphones do  not have a cable at all, unlike wireless earphones that have a cable connecting the ear buds. True wireless earphones give you freedom from all wires and with increasing bluetooth range and audio quality, along with portable charging cases make it the perfect earphones to use while working out or cooking.
