Office printers: deciding what you need

If you have ever experienced a stubborn printer in an office location; you know exactly how frustrating it can be. Your office can be a nice, informal Friday or a busy Monday nightmare. The ups and downs are always present in the office setting, but you don't have to undergo the torture of an old, barely functioning printer. If your office is in dire need of a new printer, here is a guide to getting the right printer for your office.

The most important part of choosing the perfect printer is knowing what to do with it. It may seem like an obvious answer: "Well, I need to print." However, printing serves many, many tasks and each task is best suited for a separate printer. Because of this, you will need to know what tasks your office must perform in order to properly select a printer. For example, if your business needs to print high definition images frequently, you will need a scanner on your printer. The three types of printers you will need to consider are: all-in-one printers, laser printers, and inkjet printers.

All-in-one printers

The all-in-one printer is the queen of modern printers. It juggles all kinds of tasks and combines several separate styles of printers into one. Essentially, the all-in-one printer is an inkjet, laser, copier, scanner, and fax machine in one package. If your office space is a hectic place, you will need something that can accommodate everything.

These printers are perfect for a complete office space. If you find that your office needs to multitask like: scanning images, printing copies, and faxing business documents all in one work day, then your best option is the all-in-one printer. Keep in mind that MFPs will cost at least twice as much as regular style printers. It's a good investment if you really need all the utilities it offers, but if you just need a solid printer, you'll probably want something simpler and creality.

Inkjet printers

If your office needs long-lasting, high-definition photos, then inkjet is what you want. Inkjet is actually the most common and inexpensive printer, but it is not the most suitable for common print jobs. It works by driving ink droplets onto selected paper and creating a physical copy of a digital image. However, you can make regular prints, but it is more suitable for making digital images on paper.

Inkjet printers are best for photography offices and art offices. However, it is always good to have a multitude of tools in your office. You never know when your coworkers will need to print a quality image. An inkjet could mean the difference between a satisfied customer and a disappointed one.

Laser printers

The laser printer is the workhorse of printers. It can print thousands of sheets of documents a day and work perfectly all week long. This is the best option for the typical office setting that only needs to print on plain paper. If your office has not yet obtained a laser printer, you should try one as soon as possible. The laser printer has revolutionized workplace productivity and can do the same for your office.

Although laser printers are by far the best direct printers, they do have some downsides. One disadvantage of the laser printer is that it is usually extremely bulky and heavy. It can be difficult to get around and get to the office. Many users have also complained that laser printers break down more often, but studies have shown that it is actually because laser printers work so hard. If you choose a quality laser printer, you are sure to finish your work on time and efficiently.
