Disadvantages of MacBook Air

Like many other Apple products, especially when it comes to their Macbook series, whether Macbook Pro or Macbook Air, they always start off with a big bang. Everyone is talking about the latest model and everyone wants to get one for themselves as soon as the next model in the series comes out.

The hype is common and is completely allowed. MacBook Air wasn’t an exception. When it was first announced and launched and the series started, everyone went crazy about it. The laptop also came out with some impressive features that everyone couldn’t wait to try and use.

It still is a great investment if you consider it now. The excellent features are still there, only that there are now more models created after the Macbook Air, which almost dissolves it amidst the competition. Here are some of the features of the Macbook Air.

Macbook Air Features

To begin with, the laptop comes with a Retina Display. It has a sleek design, is lightweight and easily portable. It has large internal storage that can go all the way up to 128GB; great for work and school. The battery life is also good and fair enough.

It has an excellent switch keyboard that is comfortable to use, comes with multiple apps and you can always launch and install new ones as per your needs. The overall performance of the laptop is excellent and powerful in terms of speed, audio, storage, and camera.

Disadvantages of Macbook Air

There are many things that look good about the laptop. But that is just it; good, nothing excellent or extraordinary. This should work for many users, especially those who are not heavy users. However, for heavy users with heavy tasks, good is just not enough. Most of the people prefer to sell their old macbooks.to finance a newer model. Therefore, here are some of the downsides of Macbook Air;

The laptop is pricey. Well, this is not new with most Apple products and especially their Macbook series. But still, it is one of the highly looked at factors by users. Especially compared to other laptops that function just the same, but are for more affordable prices.

Compared to the latest models, the Macbook Air comes with an outdated CPU. This also means that the life of the laptop is shortened. Unless you are not a heavy user and don’t use to perform many heavy tasks, the laptop may not serve you for as long as you may anticipate.

To complete your work efficiently, sometimes you just need to use the touch screen feature, which, unfortunately, the Macbook Air doesn’t have. If you are used to working via touch screen then this model may just not be your perfect match.

A limited USB port is another unfortunate fact about the laptop. It doesn’t support type C port, which allows many outputs to many monitors all at a go, using a single cable. It only supports type A ports which are pretty standard and may not be as efficient sometimes to some users.
