Tips And Techniques To Use Shatter Resistant Film

Rooms, oversized windows, or curtain walls look bright and inviting, with huge windows and many glass elements. However, when these large glass fronts are broken, the risk of injuries is enormous.

Shatter protection for glass surfaces is suggested or even indispensable, particularly in public buildings such as kindergartens or classrooms, but even in private areas such as children's rooms, conservatories, or carports with glass roofs. It is not necessary to use expensive glass safety compounds. Many glass surfaces can be strengthened at an even cheaper cost with a transparent, self-adhesive braking material.

Self-adhesive break guard films are transparent, made of durable, elastic, and mature-resistant polyester plastic, which provides glass resistance to stress, impact, shock, and heat when exposed to extreme heat.

They prevent the entire Window Film Manchester from bursting in the case of glass breakage. However, the resulting pieces of glass remain attached to the film. As a consequence, the risk for injury is significantly reduced. Shatter Resistant Film can also avoid structural damage, for example, on glass carports.

Shatter guard movies render implementation, both internal and external. The decisive factor is the glass surface, which is always in need of protection; it makes sense to install both an outer and an inner film in kindergartens, so vibrations or a ball cause both sides' influence. On the other hand, it is usually enough to install a shatterproof film from outside on shop plates.

Films trapped on the outside are highly effective against scratching or graffiti-caused vandalism. In contrast, they reduce the risk of burglary due to the additional time spent by the attacker.

We market the transparent protective film for external or internal use in thicknesses from 100 μm to 175 μm (1,000 μm = 1 mm). The use of a 300 μm thick break film is recommended, though burglary protection is a critical concern. Shatter shielding films suit nearly all glass surfaces.

The self-adhesive break security film consists of a difficult-to-elastic and age-resistant polymer material that strengthens the glass's resistance to pressure, injury, shock, and even heat in a burn. In the glass fracture case, they prevent the panel from shattering entirely by holding the residual glass shrapnel together around the film.

Splinter barrier films are appropriate for nearly all ceramic surfaces and are suitable for internal and external use. This depends on the film's location and intent: in preschools, for example, it makes sense to tie a broken safety film from the outside and the inside because ball games and the like pose a threat to all sides of shattering glass.
