Portable Toilet Basics

A Portable Toilet Alexandria MN, sometimes called a carton toilet, is any kind of toilet which is movable around, usually by one individual, sometimes by more mechanical gear. Portable toilets do not need any additional services, like septic tank pumping, sewage disposal, but are fully self-sufficient. Usually they have a storage tank to store waste, and a series of drains leading to it. Some models allow the user to select from several different flushing options - choose slow flushed or full flush, or a constant volume or low volume flush. Most models also have a waste container for each flush.

Portable Toilets are commonly used in public restrooms and are available in many different styles, materials and functions. The most common models are made from ceramic or PVC plastic, as they are lightweight, easy to clean, and cheap to operate. However, recent designs are becoming more complex and functional, with some incorporating electronic features such as auto flushing. Portable toilets are commonly used for temporary public restroom facilities, or as emergency facilities in disaster areas, where septic systems are not available. In these settings, a portable toilet is an excellent portable solution.

A portable toilet consists of two main parts: the holding tank and the actual toilet unit. The holding tank contains the excreta, or waste products, from the actual toilet, and is placed on the ground, usually in a location where it will not present a threat to anyone. The tank is designed to be emptied onto the actual toilet, where it is collected and drained into the holding tank. This system is simple enough to implement, and there is no need to install anything like a drain field or sewage line to get the waste into the holding tank. Therefore, the holding tank is very minimal in design.

The second part of the portable toilet is the actual toilet itself. These units are placed on a sturdy platform in the center of a large floor or open-type area, such as a waiting room or garage, and have a hole in the bottom for people to squat down and dispose of their waste. They are made from either lightweight plastic or even wood and are commonly seen in public restrooms. If they are made of wood, there is typically a water closet at the base of the toilet which collects the water used to cleanse the inside of the toilet while people use it.

Some portable toilets have a special attachment, usually a bulb or something similar, which makes the toilet seat pop up into the hole in the bottom. This type of seat is referred to as a van seat and can be helpful when accommodating people who may not be able to stay seated comfortably in a regular toilet seat. They can fit easily into the back of a van or RV toilet seat. Van seats do not work very well in public restrooms, as the opening for the waste to go in is small.

Some RV toilet seats come with a flushing mechanism that uses the same water supply used in the home flushing systems. A 970 series model, the Stoneware Star Trim and Quick Stop Flush, uses three tanks of fuel in order to flush the unit. A paper towel to catch any leaks will suffice to prevent a leak if you're using this type of flushing system.

Toilets sometimes need to be attached to the wall using a hose or some other type of attaching device. Holding tanks for portable toilets can range in size from two quarts to forty pounds, and are often made of reinforced safety glass. They allow for the holding of a substantial amount of waste water, although they may only hold up to four quarts at a time. Holding tanks for flushing toilets often have a rubber floss holder attached to the lid for easier cleaning of hands after washing. These lids also help prevent food particles from splashing inside when the tank is full. The smaller holding tanks for flushing toilets are often used for camping or recreational trips where there is no running water available for washing purposes.

When choosing a portable toilet, one must consider whether or not the model will have an attached holding tank for holding water. If so, it's a good idea to choose a model with a small holding tank. This can help keep the overall size of the unit down and can help keep the noise level down as well. Portable toilets also help keep the surrounding areas sanitary.
