Advertising and PR Management is a Top Skill

The recent Covid-19 pandemic forced the economy of the world into a deep downward spiral, from which it has only now begun to recover, albeit slowly. The slowdown across the world allowed for the industry to take a close look at the impact of the pandemic and to see how it had changed the manner the business was conducted. The World Economic Forum commissioned a study and the WEF Future of Jobs Report of 2020 provides indicators about a way ahead. Its conclusions only show that graduates from the best management college in India will be well-placed for the future.

Future of Advertising

The WEF report does not show a significant impact in the advertising market, but more importantly, what it acknowledges is that management roles were actually the least affected across companies and industries, implying that future graduates from the top management colleges in Madhya Pradesh will not have much to worry about. Companies and organizations will always try to retain people in pivotal leadership positions, because capable managers are seriously difficult to replace. Management graduates in advertising and public relations will always be invaluable to companies, as they are responsible for the image of the brand they represent.

Now, advertising and PR management is fundamentally based on the idea of communicating about the company and its operations to the public, in the best manner possible. The only thing that may have changed, and even been accelerated by the recent pandemic, is the manner in which advertising reaches the public or the consumer. A lot of advertising has now been shifted largely online, now that most people the world over have become rather used to consuming media—films, music, and other entertainment—on mobile devices and laptops. This and social media are the new medium.

Jobs and Possible Careers in Advertising and PR

Graduates from the top management colleges in Madhya Pradesh can take heart from the prediction in the WEF’s report on future jobs. Advertising is identified as being among the top 5 skills of the future which will be relevant and important across industries. Product marketing is the top cross-cutting skill, closely followed by digital marketing. These are all role specializations that easily fit the capabilities of graduates from the best management college in India. In addition, the potential salaries to be made in this field should inspire young graduates to take up this course of study.

Starting salaries are generally in the 3 lakh per annum range currently, but these can very quickly go up. Average salaries for managerial roles in branding, advertising, and business development are in the 5 to 7 lakh per annum range, though advertising managers may actually end up earning nearer to 10 lakhs per annum. With such promising beginnings, the prospects for growth are quite high, as with all other MBA jobs. Recommending an MBA in advertising and PR to young graduates is an easy task. This is the place for creative managers.
