Learn How to set up your space for home learning?

We all remember how hard it was to sit and concentrate while studying as a child. The moment when you wanted to play out of the door. Imagine growing up nowadays where you not only have the lure of the great outdoors, but also have the internet, tablets, computers, and video games to deal with it.

So, of course, the kitchen table is no longer suitable for learning time. All you really need to consider is to set up a place to learn at home. The transition from school to home learning is not easy, but it is not as challenging.

Here is a step-by-step guide to create a perfect workspace for your home learning:

  1.  Little structure is good

  • A suitable desk or table for learning

  • May require access to the material (stationery, workbook) or technology

  • A comfortable chair

  • While removing any tripping hazards, try to make the area around them clear and open.

  • Think about the class and its elements in school that you can easily set up at home.

  • Ensure the learning space has good lighting.

  1. Create a space for learning:- Of course when you think about studying for hours, then you need a comfortable space. Have your learning kits handy, all the equipment you need, including books and stationery. At the end of the day, make sure everything goes away in the same place.

  2. Use predictable scheduling:- It is beneficial if you start every day with a predictable routine that indicates your learning time. Use that visual schedule to go over the plan for the day. Of course, Predictability is the key for young learners because the pre-decided routine always works. Try to keep reading time in the morning and writing after lunch, for example. However, you could let yourself do other activities like music breaks and more at the same time. This will definitely work if you are planning an online lesson for your kids, or if you want to do it for more than one kid at home with different learning schedules and online/remote learning requirements, create a space to house that helps you and your learners understand how the pieces are going to work together. 1. Get creative:- Convert a rarely used dining room into a learning space. If you don't have any extra space in your house, then you can use a small table in the living room.

  2. Keep organized place:- keep all the supplies like headphones, and water bottles in a labeled basket or container. This will provide a sense of ownership in their place.

  3. Reduce attention wandering:- Use only the space used for learning; This includes attending online classes, completing homework, and studying. Remove all other materials from that place, keep it organized, and make sure there is good lighting and no disturbances.
