A hacker using the pseudonym Peace has namely been recognized for publication Motherboard that came over credentials to Link Dion as early as in 2012, during an attack on the site June 5 of that year.

Initially it was reported that only 6.5 million passwords leaked online, but LinkedIn announced never the exact figure.

Peace claims to have 117 million logins for sale.

Another player also claims to have come to the same information, namely Leaked Source - which specializes in searches of the hacked information.

LinkedIn has in turn confirmed the information and ensures that the company has already taken steps for all affected accounts.
