This week, during its annual conference, the DMA announced its commitment to an industry-wide initiative to overhaul its data standards.

Dubbed Data Standards 2.0, these standards will reflect the association's self-regulatory history, and aim to bring accountability to the data collection and data-based marketing in a world where data and technology increasingly dominate the profession.

The DMA will collaborate with its members and partners to iterate these new guidelines for permissible and prohibited data uses throughout the year, culminating in a comprehensive update to its standards in October 2017, during its next conference

Marketers wishing to get involved in the data standards update initiative can reach out to DMA's advocacy team at [email protected]
