We have previously reported on how a new version of Mirai-virus been attacking routers from the German operator Deutsche Telekom.

Now there are signs that the malicious software program spread further to other parts of the world.

Säkerhetsfirman Flashpoint have namely the detection of infected routers and modems in the Uk, Brazil, Iran and Thailand, to name a few.

so Far, there are no data on how many devices affected by the infection, but up to five million different gadgets are said to be vulnerable against any attacks.

"If a fraction of those affected add to the still considerable power to the already existing botnets", announces Flashpoint in a blog post.
