CAT 2018 Exam Pattern- The candidates who are willing to appear for
the national level management entrance examination must be familiar with
the exam pattern. The examination will be divided into different sections
which include Data interpretation and logical reasoning, verbal ability and
reading comprehension, Quantitative ability. The examination will be
conducted on 25th November 2018. CAT 2018 the examination will be conducted in
online mode i.e. it will be a computer-based test. The exam pattern for had
remained the same from the last two years and it is expected to be the same. This

CAT 2018 Syllabus
The conducting authority does not prescribe any syllabus for CAT latest update 2018.
The following data is based on the previous year’s data. As the last year’s
data the examination will be divided into different sections.
Data interpretation and logical reasoning
This section includes all the basic reasoning like seat arrangements, blood
relations, seat arrangements, directions etc. There is no as such book
recommended by the experts. The candidates are advised to solve previous
years question papers and sample papers.
Verbal ability and Reading comprehension
This section will test the candidate’s command over the English language. It
will have questions like jumbled sentences, jumbled paragraphs and
grammar problems. For this particular section, the candidates are advised
to read articles for good content. Experts recommend reading content fro
The Hindu, The mint etc.
Quantitative ability
This section will include all the basic all the mathematical concepts like
algebra, permutations combinations, arithmetic, trigonometry etc. The
candidates with math background have an advantage as they have already
studied the concepts in graduation. The candidates are advised to practice
as any sample and question papers as they can as it time taking the section.
CAT 2018 admit card the candidates are advised to conduct mock tests as it will help to be
familiar with the strength and weakness. It will help the candidates to
increase their problem- solving speed,
CAT 2018 Exam pattern
The conducting has prescribed the exam pattern. The pattern of the
examination expected to be same as last year’s it may or may not change.
The main highlights of the national level management entrance
examination are discussed below
- Duration- The duration of the examination will be three hours.
- Type of questions- There will be 100 questions in the examination
- Sectional duration- for each section, the candidate will be given
60 minutes.
- Marking scheme – Three marks will be awarded for each correct
response.
- Negative marking – one mark will be deducted for each incorrect
response.
- No of sections- There will be three sections in the examination.
Rough sheets will be provided to the candidates for calculations. There will
be on screen timer it will indicate the time left for the examination.
The candidates are advised to maintain their health. Always remember
