The “Prisoners” actor has teased about a project which would see him and the “Dune” director come together again. The duo has worked together on two critically acclaimed films, “Prisoners” and “Enemy.” An untitled and unrevealed project could succeed in those two.Villeneuve said in June of this year that now that he has steered the wheel for big-budgeted massive projects “Blade Runner 2049” and “Dune,” he would like to take a break now and shift his focus to smaller-scale projects like “Sicario.”Probably, that smaller project has already been decided by the director, which he would go for after the release of Dune. That same project might also star Jake Gyllenhaal as he revealed in the Team Deakins’ podcast that he and Villeneuve are up to something.Jake Gyllenhaal starred in two successive movies directed by Denis Villeneuve. One of them was the mind-bending thriller “Enemy.” Another one was the mystery film Prisoners in which he was there alongside Hugh Jackman. Both the films were released around the same time, but “Enemy” was in the works almost a year before “Prisoners.” Gyllenhaal revealed in the podcast that the deal with Villeneuve for Enemy happened over a dinner table. In the podcast, Gyllenhaal expounded the weird way Denis Villeneuve pitched the idea of “Enemy” to him.The actor did reveal later on that from that day onwards, he and the director share a connection that is hard to explain, but it always wants to bring them together on a project.“It’s very rare.” He said on the podcast while revealing that both of them cannot wait to start working together again after a long gap of seven years. The Enemy saw Jake Gyllenhaal living the character of Adam Bell, whose life goes haywire after he realizes that an actor named Anthony Claire looks exactly like him.The film has been considered one of the all-time best mind-bending movies.Gyllenhaal has been known to have worked in a lot of such movies, which include some cult films like “Donnie Darko,” “Source Code,” and “Zodiac.”His other works include the 2016 alien horror film “Life,” “Nocturnal Animals,” “Brokeback Mountain,” “Nightcrawler,” “Everest,” “Love & Other Drugs,” and “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.”He was last seen in 2019 as the character “Mysterio ” in the last of Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3 films Spider-Man: Far from Home.
Warner Bros. has unveiled explosive footage from Denis Villeneuve’s science-fiction thriller starring Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, and a lot of spell-binding scenes. The trailer offers a look into magnificent production design, out of this world action, fabulous costumes of the cast, along with everything else that Villeneuve has used to make his world of Dune, which is augmented by the music given by master composer Hans Zimmer. He always had this day-dream of adapting Frank Herbert’s novel since the time he was a teenager, and now cinema giant Warner Bros. along with Legendary, have given him a pedestal to mount his vision of utmost cinematic grandeur. The footage shown in the trailer, along with its music that adds a sense of emotional feel to it, can put any science fiction film to shame.Academy Award-nominated film Call Me by Your Name had given exposure in Hollywood to actor Timothee Chalamet who eventually found his way to star in Dennis Villeneuve’s Dune playing the protagonist Paul Atreides, descendent of a family that takes control over a minacious desert planet called Arrakis. In particular, Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides and Zendaya will occupy center stage surrounded by a stellar supporting cast of Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, No Country for Old Men star Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, and Charlotte Rampling.Dune is the latest name that has been added to the list of science fiction films made by Denis Villeneuve, who looks to have launched an incursion into the genre. It is expected that both films could very well make their way to the best sci-fi films of the 21st century. It looks the duo has given a lot of time in the project as “Dune” is expected to be a visceral exaltation akin to the pedigrees achieved by 2018 DC tentpole Aquaman which was in itself a stupendous cinematographic effort. It is an undisputed fact and imperative to be kept in mind while reviewing the film in the future that Dune is a very difficult venture if not an impossible venture.

Denis Villeneuve has made some alteration to the books, and this time around Lady Jessica will have much more importance. As Ferguson, herself must have demanded, but now it is confirmed that Lady Jessica is a much more important character in the upcoming Christmas tentpole. She adds a different dimension with her role as Ilsa Faust in Tom Cruise starrer Mission Impossible franchise, and now it will be interesting to see what she will bring to the audience as Lady Jessica. In the book written by Frank Helbert, Ferguson’s character Lady Jessica is a mother to the hero of the story Paul Atreides (the character which will be played by Timothee Chalamet on screen).Lady Jessica had no significant importance in the books other than being a stereotypical mother, but Villeneuve has expanded the role of utilizing more acting skills of Rebecca Ferguson.Villeneuve expounded his idea about Lady Jessica in a statement that he made to the Empire Magazine that expansion of the role was necessary to bring forward the balance between the powers of men and women, something which is an intrinsic characteristic of the book.He has expanded the role and emphasized on her being a warrior and a trainer as much as her being a mother. She is a part of a group called Bene Gesserit and possesses supernatural abilities such as telekinesis.Villeneuve diligently worked with the screenwriters of the film Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts to create a more powerful Lady Jessica.Ferguson lauded Villeneuve’s efforts for Lady Jessica, and even though he has a lot of respect for the author, Villeneuve decided to make some alteration considering the socio-political climate.Ferguson will play the role of Lady Jessica and will spend a lot of time alongside actor Oscar Isaac who will play the role of Duke Leto.Isaac recently made a statement to the Empire in which he confessed his love for the project which stemmed not from Villeneuve’s vision but because of anti-monopolistic and ecologist sentiments.Isaac further added that the story is about when different cultures tyrannize others, and when the people are so pushed against the wall that they have no other option but to fight back harder than ever. There is so much we can correlate with the story seeing our present world in front of our eyes.“It’s about the destiny of the people,” Isaac said.Dune is a big Christmas tentpole, and it will be released by Warner Bros on December the 18th, 2020.source: https://ratinglr.com/rebecca-fergusons-expanded-role-in-dune/
He believes that he does not need anyone to tell him what the dialogues are since his facial expressions will work with anything he says.Benicio del Toro earned massive praise when he impersonated the hitman character for the 2015 film “Sicario” also starring Avengers antagonist Josh Brolin and Edge of Tomorrow actress Emily Blunt.Toro’s intense acting skills moved the story forward in its final sequences; the suspenseful music and Toro’s breathtaking scowls remained a talking point of the film after the credits had rolled. He played the character named Alejandro, a man who desires to avenge the death of his family. He had very few words to say during the entire film, and that perhaps is one of the reasons he thought that memorizing dialogues is redundant. His name attached as a cinematographer convinced Dano that he is indeed signing for something great. It was when they started talking about Benicio del Toro then Deakins revealed that there were times on the sets of Sicario when the actor would simply walk up to Denis Villeneuve and tell him that he doesn’t need any dialogues and that whatever Denis wants of him he can do it with his face.Although Deakins was surprised because it was the first time, he was seeing a lead actor talk like that, but he was ultimately impressed by how much acting Del Toro could deliver with his body.Roger Deakins also expounded that the whole structure of the film Sicario was a lot different than many films because the story relied heavily on the camera movements, sequences and the suspense than on any character depth.
