Netflix gave a sneak peek of the costumes and mannerisms of actresses Gillian Anderson and Emma Corrin who are set to play the role of Margaret Thatcher and Princess Diana respectively.The historical figures will be portrayed by the actresses in the 4th season of the mega-hit drama show “The Crown.”The streaming giant released a few photos on its social media handle which excited fans as they got to see the first looks of the Iron Lady and Princess of Wales.
In the photographs, you can see Emma Corrin’s personification attending an event and walking on a sidewalk alongside Prince Charles portrayed by Josh O’Connor while Gillian Anderson’s Iron Lady was seen waving to a group of supporters outside her residence in 10 Downing Street.Margaret Thatcher became the first female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom when she was sworn in the year 1979.Emma Corrin recently had given some words to the Hollywood Reporter in which she had described her preparation for the role.
She said that the producers sent her a biography along with some pictures of Princess Diana which she had to study in order to perfect the mannerisms and looks.
She added that the producers also got in touch with some people who personally knew the Princess of Wales.She made no mistake in mentioning the fact there is a ton of nonsense written about Princess Diana so, in order to get to the truth, one must work hard.Emma Corrin remarked that she needed to hire a movement and a voice coach who helped her in the preparations.Though she claims that she did whatever she could to enact Princess Diana perfectly, she still feels that she doesn’t have the face of the princess.
She jokingly said that she looks more like a young Jodie Foster.In other images that Netflix have shared, we see some glimpses of Queen Elizabeth (played by Olivia Colman), Prince Philip (played by Tobias Menzies), and Princess Margaret (played by Helena Bonham Carter).The fourth season will tell the story of the 1980s, and the production team had already wrapped up the shooting before the pandemic had begun to take shape in March.The show will arrive on Netflix on November the 15th.Season 5, which will explore the story of the modern era, will be shot next year and will be released in 2022, probably.Some of the cast for the fifth season has already been decided with Imelda Staunton already signed up for the role of Queen Elizabeth.
Lesley Manville will take over the character of Margaret Thatcher, and Jonathan Pryce has been cast as Prince Philip.
