Gigantic mountains blanketed in snow encircled the snowscape with a frozen lake lying in the valley below. That is why it is more popularly known as the Frozen Lake among locals. While the frozen lake in Winter presents an ethereal snow-covered view, Summers brings out the enchanting emerald Lake into life with the otherwise stark landscape flecked with wild flowers. Is Alpather Lake trek difficult? In Summer the trek felt relatively easier.

So if you are looking for a day trip or an unconventional weekend getaway around Bangalore, then we certainly recommend a road trip to Chitradurga Fort. Best time to visit Chitradurga FortJuly-August: This is the ideal time if you want to see the gorgeous Sunflower fields. A little about Chitradurga FortDo you know why the fort was named Chitradurga? These shapes are naturally made and that is where the name of the fort comes from – Chitra (art) + Durga (Fort).  The excess water collected in Gopalaswamy Honda flows into Akka Honda and then gradually to Thangi Honda.

Random conversations, scenic saunters, relishing street food and a peek into the local way of life were chosen over mini Switzerland and other tempting places. Experiences we will never forgetThe Drive from Srinagar to PahalgamI feel the best part of visiting Pahalgam is the drive itself. Apart from the scenic beauty, the market is also a perfect place for some shopping and street food. We bought some Shawls for family and treated ourselves to some scrummy street food. Cricket Bat Making Factories at SangamOn the way to Pahalgam, comes a village named Sangam that is very hard to miss.

This was our 3rd visit to Wayanad and we decided to explore it a bit differently this time by staying at the Banasura Hill Resort. Things to do around Banasura Hill ResortThere are tons of things to keep you occupied at the resort. The walking tours are organised by the resort to the nearby points of interest most of which are the property of the resort itself. Another such view point is just beside the resort and provides lovely views of the Banasura hill as well as the valley. The sight of a huge waterfall camouflaged with thick cover of trees and plummeting down from a great height was simply breathtaking.

And yet here I am, dreaming of the days we spent in this quaint little village in Arunachal Pradesh. A place blessed with remarkable natural beauty and a temperate climate, but more than that the most wonderful people with hearts of gold. Why Shergaon became my favouriteThe Natural BeautyShergaon is blessed with unparalleled natural beauty. The natural beauty is still intact and it is the perfect place to explore by foot, to take life slow and to relish everything nature has to offer. The Hidden WaterfallChoskorong waterfall is like a hidden treasure of Shergaon.

No wonder we got some time to explore the different corners of the city apart from the famous tourist destinations. With impressive theme parks, beautiful gardens, eye-catching temples and colourful streets – Singapore has enough to keep you occupied at least for a week. Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year, School Holidays: These are the times when all attractions get super crowded. Getting around in SingaporeWith a world class public transportation system in place, it is really easy to get around in Singapore without spending a lot of money. MRT (Mass Rapid Transit): The extensive rail network of Singapore provides great connectivity and almost all attractions are at a walkable distance from the MRT stations.

It took us around 35-40 minutes to reach the temple from our hotel in Hassan town.
