It's been a long time coming, and there's still no word on when the successor to the video-centric Sony Alpha A7S II will arrive. So, to fill the gap and make the waiting harder, rumors of the hotly anticipated A7S III keep on coming. The latest report comes from "a reliable source" who has shared with Sony Alpha Rumors that the electronics giant is kicking the video recording capabilities of the A7S II up a notch.According to the source, who claims to have gotten their hands on a prototype model of the A7S III, the forthcoming shooter will potentially be capable of shooting 4K video at up to 120fps.As a comparison, the A7S II can record UHD 4K video at 30p, while the Panasonic Lumix S1H can capture 6K/24p and 4K/60p video in 10-bit 4:2:0.That's twice the frame rate most people were expecting from the A7S III and, if true, could give the newly released Lumix S1H a run for its money and pique the interest of serious videographers.

To add page numbers on Google Docs, you'll need to go into your "Insert" menu.Adding page numbers to a document can help you keep digital and physical files organized. There are many different styles available for page numbers in Google Docs, and you can format them in several ways.Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories. While probably not necessary for short documents, page numbers can play an important role in keeping your longer documents organized — especially if you're printing them out.Papers can fall out of the printing tray, and a missing page is much easier to identify when you know exactly which one it is, after all.
Legislators in California just passed a bill requiring app-based companies like Uber and Lyft to treat their contractors the same way they treat regular employees. The New York Times reports that the bill, known as Assembly Bill 5, was approved in the California State Senate on a 29-to-11 vote on Tuesday, September 10.Gavin Newsom signs the bill, it would go into effect January 1, 2020.The bill would make app-based companies identify contractors as regular employees of the company.According to the New York Times, this applies to companies that have control over how its contractors perform tasks and if the contractors’ work contributes to the companies’ regular business.Under the bill, contractors would be eligible for basic protections like minimum-wage requirements, health benefits, and Social Security.
Twitter has temporarily suspended the ability to tweet via SMS following high-profile hack of its CEO Jack Dorsey and a number of celebrities.“We’re taking this step because of vulnerabilities that need to be addressed by mobile carriers and our reliance on having a linked phone number for two-factor authentication,” the company said. However, the social blogging platform did not provide a timeline for when the feature would be reinstated, but added that it will first reactivate it in markets that “depend on SMS for reliable communication.”Last week, Twitter acknowledged that the phone number associated with Dorsey’s account was compromised due to what it blames on carrier “security oversight,” thereby allowing an unauthorized third-party to post tweets via text messages from the phone number.Although not confirmed, it’s being suspected that Dorsey’s number fell victim to a SIM swapping attack — a clever social engineering trick used by cybercriminals to persuade phone carriers into transferring their victims’ cell services to a SIM card under their control. This basically allows the attacker to intercept calls and text messages, including those used for two-factor authentication.
The "private cloud" brought the same models into enterprise data centers.Even the definition of "cloud" versus "on-premises" has gotten foggy, thanks to such private cloud options as Microsoft's Azure Stack, Google's Anthos, and Amazon's upcoming Outposts that let enterprise clients move cloud resources back into local data centers. It's tempting to believe that all of these could be put behind one Web portal that makes everything just a service that can be managed like cloud instances—scaled up and down on demand with a monthly bill (or charge-back).And, while a few brave companies with greenfield IT projects may be grabbing onto "almost everything as a service," not everyone is ready to follow them. The upsides to moving an app or process to the cloud should be obvious: no sunk cost in hardware, the ability to scale the service up or down to match your usage, and the assurance of leaving the everyday maintenance of its infrastructure to specialists. For smaller businesses that lack assured and affordable bandwidth backed by a service-level agreement, this can argue against moving much beyond mail to services vendors.

What do YouTube, Tesla, and LinkedIn have in common? All of them were founded by members of the so-called PayPal Mafia, alumni of the payments firm that have gone on to start or back superstar companies. There’s also the Google Mafia, who – though not as tightly knit – may be just as influential. These ex-Googlers now occupy high-level positions at large tech companies, and Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s chief operating officer, is arguably the most well-known of the group. As Southeast Asia’s tech landscape matures, scoring exits and billion-dollar company valuations, it appears that the region has churned out its version of the Valley mafias – Lazada executives and managers who’ve hung up their badges to venture out on their own or take C-suite roles at startups. While the trend began a few years ago, it became evident after Chinese behemoth Alibaba acquired control of the ecommerce firm in 2016, and upped its stake to over 83% a year later.
With so many TV brands out there, offering everything from budget small TVs to wall-filling displays, it can feel impossible to really suss out which one is going to be right for your purchase – and that's why we're here to help.As a budget TV brand specifically, Hisense will generally offer premium technologies for lower than the competition, meaning if you're mainly fussed about a particular HDR format or 4K resolution at the cheapest possible price, Hisense will probably have a set to suit you.As a large Chinese manufacturer of various electrical goods, Hisense covers everything from fridges to washing machines, though its smart TV range is one of the biggest parts of its burgeoning business.Back in 2015 it licensed the famous Sharp brand, bought part of a Mexican TV production line and started making televisions for the US and South American markets using the Japanese company’s name – and then went several steps further by buying Toshiba's TV business. So you should be in no doubt that Hisense is a major player with a solid presence in the competitive television market. So, after a brief history lesson, are Hisense television deals worth considering?

Today’s businesses are under siege, day and night, from a threat which lies in the shadows of their IT networks and supply chains, writes AJ Thompson CCO of Northdoor plc.Cyber-attacks have become one of the biggest threats for modern organisations, however this does not mean that businesses are powerless. There have been some notable attacks over the past few years that have impacted companies as diverse as Tesco to Facebook and the past decade has seen a raft of regulations and policies come into place, most notably GDPR.As a result, companies are investing large amounts of time and money to secure adherence and to ensure that they are best equipped to protect themselves from the increasingly sophisticated and regular threat of cyberattacks. It is essential that businesses are not only implementing solutions for the sake of compliance.Ideally, each device and application should first be vetted and then continually monitored for security risks, with patches consistently updated.
Backup cameras are a federally mandated new vehicle component these days, and knowing that, a vehicle can quickly fall out of compliance with a faulty part.As such, Toyota has filed documents with the NHTSA as it prepares to recall the 2019 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid over a fault in the backup camera.According to the NHTSA documents filed earlier this month, 14,215 RAV4 models are subject to the recall but Toyota estimates fewer than 1% of the models have the actual defect.Affected RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid models were made between May 27, 2019, and July 27, 2019.The automaker traced the backup camera issue to a damaged electrical connector.During a part check, one of the pins on the audio display unit may have bent in a way that affects the backup camera.

AT and T-Mobile have started rolling out call authentication technology on calls placed between the two networks.Soon, if a phone call is made from one network to the other using a compatible device, then the recipient will see a “Caller Verified” message, and they’ll know for certain that the call isn’t from a spoofed robocall or spammer.AT also says it’s testing integrating the data used by this system its Call Protect service, which it started offering for free to its customers last month. The rollout is the latest step in US mobile carriers’ fight to stop robocalls, and it comes after Federal Communications Commission chairman Ajit Pai ordered them to implement a call authentication system by the end of 2019.Last month, the FCC criticized what it called the slow progress being made by carriers toward this goal after it voted to allow carriers to block robocalls by default back in June.T-Mobile and AT’s call authentication partnership is based on the SHAKEN/STIR standard, which can verify whether a caller ID is accurate.

Verizon is saying goodbye to Tumblr. The media company on Monday said it agreed to sell Tumblr to Automattic, the parent company of WordPress.Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but Axios reported that the price tag was "well below" $20 million."Tumblr is one of the Web's most iconic brands," said Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg in a release."It is an essential venue to share new ideas, cultures and experiences, helping millions create and build communities around their shared interests."The sale isn't a surprise as reports earlier this year said Verizon was looking for a potential buyer.
The new hardware revision of the Nintendo Switch is now making its way to retail stores. It features a newer, more efficient CPU than the original launch console, which results in significantly longer battery life ranging between 4.5 and nine hours.Otherwise, the Nintendo Switch “v2” — not to be confused with the upcoming Switch Lite — hasn’t changed much: it’s got the same design and same screen. That means there’s no easy way to distinguish the new, longer-lasting model from the original unless you know where to look and what to look for.The box for the original hardware has a white background, but this time Nintendo went with red.Another difference from the old packaging is that there’s no longer a hand placing the Switch into its dock.
A Tesla electric car caught fire and exploded after crashing into a stationary tow truck on the Moscow ring road over the weekend, after the driver said he failed to see the truck parked ahead of him.In an interview with REN TV, driver Alexei Tretyakov said he was using the Model 3’s Autopilot in driver assistance mode, but had his hands on the steering wheel. The incident is the latest to raise safety concerns about Tesla’s electric cars, with the company saying they are far safer than petrol-powered vehicles. The US’s top automobile safety regulator has issued at least five subpoenas since last year seeking information about crashes involving Tesla vehicles, according to Reuters.Tretyakov said he was driving at about the speed limit of 100 km (62 miles) per hour when he crashed into a tow truck that was servicing a vehicle on Saturday evening.Footage published by a Moscow resident on Instagram and later shown on state TV channel Rossiya 24 showed two explosions taking place in quick succession and the car being engulfed in flames and emitting black smoke while heavy traffic passed beside it.
