Back at IFA 2019, Huawei’s CEO Richard Yu revealed that the company’s highly-anticipated foldable smartphone, the Huawei Mate X will be available in October or November at the latest. When it comes to the Chinese markets, reports indicate that the handset will be released there in October. Now, new fresh information comes directly from Huawei’s customer service. It basically confirms the handset arrival in October, at least for the Chinese market. The global launch will follow in November, however, this still needs to be confirmed.Once that the mass production of the Mate X picks up with the demand, we should see it available across some third-party resellers.
Looking for the Huawei Mate 30 Pro wallpapers? You can find them below individually or head to the bottom of the article and click the button to download them all (courtesy of Ytechb).Installing wallpapers is a lot of fun because it makes you feel as if you have a new phone. In this case, you’ll feel like you own the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, which isn’t available to buy just yet. What’s especially nice about these wallpapers is that you can install them on your current device while still using Google apps!Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about the Mate 30 Pro itself, which, as of now, will ship without Google apps on board.

We're waiting to hear back from Google, but so far its tech support is sticking to the line that there is no way to register a G Suite account and only a freebie Gmail addy will do.A support droid wrote on this thread: "G Suite accounts are accounts set up by businesses or organizations to access different Google business productivity tools. You can't use a G Suite account because the account data is managed by your organization.Use your personal Google Account or create a Google Account to sign in to the app.""This is aggravating and alarming," according to one of the calmer posters."We hear your frustration and understand change isn't easy," support cooed.
Apple on Tuesday finally explained what Apple TV Plus is all about (well, almost all about). With a reported budget of $6 billion to rope in some of Hollywood's biggest stars, Apple TV Plus will launch Nov. 1 for $5 a month.Apple TV Plus, the Netflix-like subscription service featuring Apple's original TV shows and movies, will launch with nine confirmed titles, including a drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, a post-apocalyptic thriller starring Jason Momoa and a comedy about poet Emily Dickinson starring Hailee Steinfeld. At a preview screening of Dickinson Saturday, creator Alena Smith described the show as a "crazy psychedelic" version of the 1850s, where Steinfeld plays the young poet cursing in contemporary slang while wearing a corset, and rapper Wiz Khalifa shows up as a personification of death in the first episode.John Mulaney will appear later as Henry David Thoreau, one of Dickinson's heroes who turns out to be a "total phony," according to Smith, and Zosia Mamet will guest star as Little Women writer Louisa May Alcott, who apparently visits the Dickinsons for Christmas. After launch, the nine programs will be expanded by another five that Apple confirmed it will add in the following months.
Regardless of whatever other augmented reality hardware solutions Apple might have been working on, the company’s immediate path forward appears to be iPhone-dependent AR glasses with a handheld controller, rather than a standalone platform. That’s the biggest surprise developers Steve Troughton-Smith and Guilherme Rambo have discovered in newly released versions of iOS 13 and XCode 11, which now show clear evidence of a stereo augmented reality feature called StarBoard — a necessary software prelude to the release of compatible hardware. As of now, StarBoard looks similar to iOS’s CarPlay feature, which uses an iPhone to generate the graphics for a car’s external touch display.Unlike CarPlay, which outputs a single image for the 2D dashboard display, StarBoard appears to be focused on outputting two images for a 3D stereoscopic headset, which would be paired with a new touch-based controller for AR navigation. While it appears that Apple will have developers create objects and environments within its existing ARKit software environment, there are references in Apple’s code to Holokit, Garta, Franc, and Luck, which appear to be new AR software and hardware currently undergoing internal testing at the company.Troughton-Smith speculates that Apple might be priming a third-party accessory program to bring compatible glasses into the marketplace with its own offering as a “halo” product.
It’s not unheard of for people to boot up Linux or homebrew software on their smart refrigerator or games console. But what about installing Spotify on your vacuum cleaner?Well, tinkerer Eddie Zhang figured out a way to install Spotify on his Xiaomi smart vacuum cleaner, according XDA-Developers.Zhang shows off the feature in a video (seen at the top of the article), using the LibreSpot open-source Spotify client to control the music via his phone. The clip doesn’t go in-depth, but we do see the ability to skip tracks and control the volume. The audio quality from the vacuum cleaner is pretty poor, as you’d expect, but the sheer fact that this is running is extremely cool.
The big island of Japan received Tropical Storm Faxai and NASA's Aqua satellite provided forecasters at the Joint Typhoon Warning Center infrared data and cloud top temperature information that revealed the most powerful storms just off-shore when the satellite flew overhead.Cloud top temperatures provide information to forecasters about where the strongest storms are located within a tropical cyclone.Tropical cyclones do not always have uniform strength, and some sides have stronger sides than others. The stronger the storms, the higher they extend into the troposphere, and they have the colder cloud temperatures.NASA's Aqua satellite analyzed the storm on Sept. 8 at 11:59 p.m. EDT (Sept. 9 at 0359 UTC) using the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder or AIRS instrument.AIRS found coldest cloud top temperatures as cold as or colder than minus 63 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 53 degrees Celsius) around Faxai's center and in a large band east of center.

Last night, Samsung announced that the new and improved Galaxy Fold would go on sale in South Korea on September 6.“Not only we improved the Galaxy Fold’s design and construction, but also took the time to rethink the entire consumer journey.”When I got to the Samsung press conference, the message was more succinct. That little upside-down “T” shape is a new clip that’s supposed to prevent people from peeling the protective film off of the display.(Click to the next image in the slideshow above to see another shot of the same spot on the previous iteration of the device.)Gizmodo’s own Sam Rutherford did not do this and experienced no major durability issues when he reviewed the phone.
With all the excitement around big data and digital marketing platforms, we often forget about one of the oldest and most impactful forms of owned media: product packaging. Now consider the power of connected packaging. With all the benefits that connected packaging offers, it’s important to consider how the various options provide value against marketing objectives and required investment levels. From early forms such as unique codes and QR codes to newer technologies like Snapcodes and NFC, let’s review four ways brands are turning old-school packaging into highly engaging owned media. One of the oldest forms of connected packaging is still one of the best options for brands that want to provide consumers an incentive tied to purchase, without the need for a POS integration. These one-time use unique codes boast the highest acceptance rate across all age demographics and can provide valuable purchase insights such as product type, location and retailer.
Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.Think of it this way: in my late twenties, I can only learn so much about people 65-years-old and older.Sure, I might understand them well on paper, but I don’t know what it feels like to be in this demographic. In an email conversation with Julie Haught, founder of No Flap Ear Wrap, one thing she said really stuck with me: “I had no intention of creating a business at first.”Haught explained, “I simply needed a way to protect Archer, my muscular, 65-pound rescue dog, from escaping the bandaging and e-collar he needed to wear for 10 days after ear surgery.Thinking about her dog’s needs and her desire to help let her create a useful solution for their situation.
Read more: The best true-wireless earbuds for 2019When I first conducted this test a a few months ago, I opted for the AirSounds True Wireless Earbuds -- a dead ringer for the real thing save for the tiny power/function button protruding from each 'bud.Although I found the sound quality to be surprisingly decent overall, I had issues with the fit, outdoor performance (dropouts were a real problem) and lack of auto-pairing.My ultimate verdict: Not bad for the price, but why bother when there are so many other true-wireless earbuds that don't look like AirPods but perform as well or better? But here comes the AirSounds 2 (normally $39.99, but $32 with promo code CNETSOUNDS20), with a host of compelling upgrades: Bluetooth 5.0, touch controls, auto-pairing and, surprisingly, a case that can charge wirelessly.OK, but at less than the price, the AirSounds 2 can't possibly be any good, right?
One thing I really appreciate about Chinese smartphone makers is their willingness to take risks in order to innovate. And one of the wackiest phones in recent memory is the Oppo Reno, whose unique styling has been passed down to the new Reno 2.Meanwhile, in back, the Reno 2 features four cameras (a 48 megapixel main, 13MP 2x telephoto, 8MP wide, and a 2MP mono) mounted flush against the phone’s body that cascade downward in a very aesthetically pleasing way.And to protect the cameras against possible scratching, there’s a tiny little ceramic nipple that Oppo calls the O-Dot, which ever so slightly lifts the back of the phone off the ground. And yet, despite all these wacky design features, thanks to a sleek body with subtle highlights and a glorious 6.5-inch AMOLED screen uninterrupted by any notches, punch holes, or other distractions, the Reno 2 somehow still manages to look quite sophisticated. On the inside, Oppo has also come up with some camera trickery that allows the Reno 2 to use all of its rear cameras at the same time to create a 5x hybrid zoom that actually looks pretty good.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has warned that the United States is within weeks of losing its ‘measles eliminated’ status. As of last week, measles cases had been confirmed across 30 states, boosting levels to the highest they’ve been since 1992.If this outbreak continues, the US may lose its ability to classify measles as eliminated by October.Measles was declared eliminated in the United States in 2000, meaning that the country went without any continuous cases of the disease for at least a full year. That may change for the first time in nearly two decades, according to the CDC, due to the massive outbreak happening around the nation.Note: The dark blue regions show states where measles cases have been confirmed.

The 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV electric hatchback will have 259 miles of range, 21 more miles than the 2019 model, Chevrolet announced in a press release on August 22.That means the Bolt's range will exceed that of Tesla's most comparably-priced vehicle, the standard-plus trim of its Model 3 sedan, which has 240 miles of range.Tesla's luxury vehicles — the Model S sedan, Model X SUV, and the high-end trims of the Model 3 — have longer ranges than all other electric vehicles available for sale in the US, but a few other mass-market competitors also exceed the standard-plus Model 3.Chevrolet attributed the 2020 Bolt's range increase to changes in battery-cell chemistry that increased the energy of their cell electrodes, which are where electrical current leaves or enters a battery.Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories. That means the Bolt's range will exceed that of Tesla's most comparably-priced vehicle, the standard-plus trim of its Model 3 sedan (the 2020 Bolt will start at $37,495, while the standard-plus Model 3 starts at $38,990), which has 240 miles of range.
Carbon has been a kind of shining beacon in the world of 3D printing. In June, the company raised $260 million, bringing its valuation just shy of $2.4 billion. The company’s rapid growth is thanks in no small part to some high-profile partnerships, led by big names like Adidas and Riddell. This morning, Carbon announced another partnership that’s a no-brainer in the wake of those sneaker and helmet deals. The company is teaming up with bicycle manufacturer Specialized for a 3D-printed bike seat.“Carbon and Specialized share a mission to challenge the acceptable, create the extraordinary, and ultimately make products that enable people to push the limits of what’s possible,” Carbon CEO Joseph DeSimone said in a release tied to the announcement.
Crack open the Tokay, the His Dark Materials TV adaptation's latest casting news heralds in the "hot priest" from Fleabag: Andrew Scott who plays Jopari, or John Parry, a scholar and shaman from a different world. But before going into the deep end on that, a little background. Thanks to the BBC, which has HBO on board to distribute the series worldwide, Philip Pullman's classic British trilogy of novels will set sail for the small screen for the first time, following the 2007 film The Golden Compass that didn't fare so well with critics. But will this new creation make up for Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman's foray into the fantasy epic, the film's unmade sequels leaving hero Lyra (literally) up in the air?Pullman sourced the title for his book trilogy from a poem by John Milton -- another work with big themes about religious deities -- but let's not go too far down that rabbit hole, with the basic plot of the first novel Northern Lights following Lyra as she attempts to save her best friend Roger from the Gobblers, nefarious people stealing away children to an icy fate.It sets up a war between The Magisterium and scholars like Lord Asriel, played by McAvoy, over truth and freedom.
GeForce Now, Nvidia’s game streaming service which has been in beta for some time, has now started supporting RTX graphics (ray tracing) for some users – plus the service will soon be arriving on Android mobiles. To begin with, ray tracing support is being rolled out in a limited fashion, only to certain Nvidia data centers, starting with Frankfurt in Germany.RTX servers will then come to other German locations, and gamers in Northern California, before a broader rollout to other data centers throughout Europe and the US.In other words, only a limited amount of GeForce Now users are going to benefit to begin with, and it may take some time to arrive in your particular region.Naturally, you’ll also need to be playing a game that supports Nvidia’s ray tracing technology as well as having a local RTX server to stream from.(Check here for a list of the games that benefit from ray tracing at the moment, as well as future releases – plus lots of other RTX info besides).
Much of how the Sun works remains a mystery: It has its own weather cycles, which we are just beginning to understand, for starters, and scientists are unsure how the solar wind—a major component in solar weather—exactly works.Good thing NASA recently launched a mission toward the center of our solar system to take a look at how this furnace functions.Launched in 2018, NASA’s Parker Solar Probe will take years to swoop into orbit around the Sun, but once it’s there, its main goal is to figure out exactly what drives the solar wind, the constant stream of highly charged particles that are spit out from the openings in the surface. The probe will also study the Sun’s magnetic field.Solar weather is important to understand because those particles and blasts of radiation can affect our satellites, causing communication delays or even blackouts.Sun still in your eyes?

Huawei's foldable Mate X has been pushed back from its intended September launch because there's "no possibility" the company can make that date. The phone was initially set to release in June but was pushed back to September, with a spokesperson for Huawei explaining that the manufacturer didn't want to launch a product that would "destroy" its reputation.Apparently we'll still see the handset make its debut before the end of the year, with November being cited as a possible release window.Huawei seems adamant on getting the Mate X out before 2020, to shoehorn it into the sweet spot of the holiday shopping period, so we'll have to see if it can stick with the new date this time around. The final version of the handset reportedly sports a more slimline lock button that better fits the phone's form factor, and the hinge has been refined, and won't be carbon fibre. The steel back hasn't gone anywhere, even though a lighter, aluminium version was trialled that would've shaved 20g off the weight, but it didn't prove sturdy enough.
