In CNET sister site GameSpot's preview, Alessandro Fillari wrote that Jedi: Fallen Order "is taking the right lessons" from games such as Dark Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in terms of combat, with Metroid Prime-inspired exploration. We saw Kashyyk as one of the final battlegrounds of the Clone Wars in Revenge of the Sith.In the "thoughtful" combat sections stormtroopers, scout troopers and flame troopers are easily taken down with a lightsaber slash, but the heavily armored purge trooper takes a bit more damage and matches Cal's lightsaber with his vibrostaff. He takes out a giant spider -- a Wyyyschokk -- with a few button taps and lightsaber swings. However, it will have a few preorder bonus items: a fetching yellow skin for BD-1, an orange lightsaber blade option, lightsaber hilts from the Mygeeto and Umbaran campaigns, and a Gold Squadron skin for your ship, the Stinger Mantis.Jedi: Fallen Order will also be the first game that EA releases on Steam, Valve's digital platform, since 2011.
A group of researchers have reportedly created a new type of adhesive that can be removed with the help of magnets. Thanks to companies and manufacturers promoting environmental awareness, more people are becoming advocates of recycling.Experts are coming up with new ways to reuse various materials, but most industrial adhesives make it difficult to separate non-recyclable parts from those that can be salvaged. This often leads to people dumping these items into landfills. However, reports claim that a new type of glue can help reduce unnecessary processes that can contribute to pollution. The news comes from ScienceDaily, which credits this latest discovery to the researchers at the University of Sussex.
Microsoft Teams users can now converse with colleagues privately after the long-awaited introduction of private channels – one of a variety of updates announced by Microsoft at its Ignite conference in Orlando, Fla. this week.Private channels have been in high demand from Teams users, and are the most requested feature on the Microsoft User Voice feedback page for Teams. The feature had been proposed by Microsoft before the launch of Teams in 2017, with a preview announced earlier this year. The new feature allows Teams users to create channels that that are viewable and accessible only by specified coworkers, which can be useful for teams dealing with sensitive or confidential content.“Every group, every team, every business has some discussions where they need to maintain some level of confidentiality,” said Karan Nigam, group product marketing manager for Microsoft Teams. With private channels, the intent is that any team can restrict the membership of that particular channel so that not everyone has access to [it], …only a certain set of people do.”
In late August, paleontologists reported finding the fossil of a flattened turtle shell that “was possibly trodden on” by a dinosaur, whose footprints spanned the rock layer directly above. The rare discovery of correlated fossils potentially traces two bygone species to the same time and place.Original story reprinted with permission from Quanta Magazine, an editorially independent publication of the Simons Foundation whose mission is to enhance public understanding of science by covering research developments and trends in mathematics and the physical and life sciences.Like fossils, astronomical objects are not randomly strewn throughout space.“Paleontologists infer the existence of dinosaurs to give a rational accounting of strange patterns of bones,” said Nima Arkani-Hamed, a physicist and cosmologist at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey.“We look at patterns in space today, and we infer a cosmological history in order to explain them.”
to avoid some common mistakes, you can do better with a phone call.the Swedish engineers ' most recent löneenkät shows that eight out of ten, the engineers had to have a discussion over the past year.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an upcoming single-player action adventure game from the same studio behind the Titanfall series and Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment. You’ll follow Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan that just barely escapes the grips of the empire and goes on to embark on a journey to master the force.Exploring and traversing through beautiful environments with your adorable little droid BD-1 is incredible fun, and the flashy lightsaber combat feels feels as tight and cinematic as fans will hope. While I’m not convinced the story has what it takes to leave a lasting impression, the gameplay in Fallen Order certainly does. After boarding the ship, I found a holographic map with two planets on it; Dathomir and Zeffo. Those familiar with Star Wars lore might recognize the planet Dathomir, and why that would be so.

Among scientists, 97% agree that humans are causing climate change and global warming. So why is there still an ongoing debate about climate change? But a new campaign by 180LA for the Geothermal Exchange Organization (GEO), a nonprofit trade association promoting geothermal energy, is successfully convincing climate change deniers to move away from fossil fuels. No, these red-blooded, red-voting Americans have not come around on the near-consensus findings of the scientific community.GEO is reaching them through a universal color: green.GEO sent self-proclaimed environmentalist Eric Caspian-Johnson Garcia-Marquez (actually actor Eric Satterberg) into America’s heartland to show how much fossil fuel-based heating and cooling has cost them over the years.

“GPUs underpin software that tracks and demarcates the outline of the user’s body”A new GPU and AI-powered software development kit (SDK) from Nvidia aims to disrupt the game-streaming hardware market, by letting users create greenscreens and AR affects without the need for common additional hardware. As the videogames industry rapidly grows, so has the number of content creators on platforms like YouTube and the videogame streaming website Twitch TV, which Amazon bought for the equivalent to £779 million in 2014.(NVIDIA estimates that over 750 million people across the world watch people stream their videogame experience.)Hoping to capture some of this still burgeoning market, Nvidia’s release uses the power of the company’s GPUs to help users replace their background with gameplay when streaming; without the need to make use of special cameras that alter the image.(Currently gamers use products such as Razer Stargazer and Logitech C922 webcameras.
After delaying its April launch date due to serious reliability concerns, the refined Samsung Galaxy Fold is back and finally, finally up for sale in the US.The much-publicized problems centered around the folding display, which had malfunctioned when press peeled the protective plastic off the screens of their review units. Some screens simply stopped syncing on their own.In any case, the new versions have added a protective plastic lip around the edges of the screen (to keep anyone from removing the plastic cover) and heavily refined the hinge. To be safe, there are copious warnings for new buyers, especially for the plastic folding center screen, which is more fragile than typical glass screens.Press are already seeing new broken pixel issues crop up, from TechCrunch to JerryRigEverything - though the latter found the hinge to be far more durable than expected.

Lightsabers have been cinematic icons and appeared in every Star Wars movie since 1977, when Luke Skywalker ignites the blue blade handed to him by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi in A New Hope. They're later given color using a technique called rotoscoping. It was concept artist Ralph McQuarrie who decided to associate the colors of the blades with characters' moral standing. In the 41 years since, we've seen a whole rainbow of colors -- though many have been consigned to the noncanon Legends continuity of novels, comic books, video games, spinoff movies and TV series that came out before April 2014, when Disney took over.In The Gathering, an episode from the fifth season of animated series The Clone Wars, the quest to acquire these force-attuned crystals is revealed as a Jedi rite of passage -- the crystals presenting themselves to worthy owners.Users we've seen in canon also include Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, Shaak Ti, Agen Kolar, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Barriss Offee, Jocasta Nu, Aayla Secura, Plo Koon, Kai Justiss, Sora Bulq and Ferren Barr.
On August 30, 2017, a video appeared online showing footage of every satellite operator’s worst nightmare: an anomaly. In the video, an orb—a satellite known as Telkom-1—hovers in the center of the frame while stars streak across the screen in the background. Then, seemingly without warning, the satellite spews a cloud of debris.“When that point of light starts shedding things to the left, right, bottom, it’s clear it had an event,” says Gerard van Belle, an astronomer at Lowell Observatory in Arizona, using another favorite aerospace euphemism.“There’s a lot of questions.”Hypothetically, there’s a way to answer those questions for future events and anomalies, although it’s too late for Telkom-1 (RIP).
Titanium oxide (TiO2) nanofibers can have various applications, such as in catalyzers and filters. When TiO2 is excited by ultraviolet light, it degrades organic material.A new method of fabricating these fibers has been developed in Brazil by Rodrigo Savio Pessoa and Bruno Manzolli Rodrigues, researchers at the Aeronautical Technology Institute's Plasma and Process Laboratory (LPP-ITA) and the Science and Technology Institute of Universidade Brasil (ICT-UB), as part of a project supported by São Paulo Research Foundation - FAPESP."The technique we used is called atomic layer deposition. In the study, TiO2 was deposited on nanofibers of PBAT (poly (butylene adipate-co-terephthalate)), a biopolymer that degrades rapidly in nature, unlike PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which remains intact for decades. The first step was to produce a membrane of PBAT nanofibers, which was done by electrospinning, a technique similar to that used to make cotton candy, but involving an electrostatic procedure.
