Ayurveda: A permanent solution to Kidney Disorders

Kidneys are one of the most vital organs found in the human body. These are responsible for performing a number of functions such as blood filtration, managing body fluid level and excreting waste & toxins through urine. If the kidneys are diseased, they are not capable of performing their tasks with full efficiency. And the condition is known as kidney disease. There are several kinds of kidney diseases; some are common while others are chronic. In both cases, it is recommended to take immediate treatment before the condition gets worse. Kidney treatment in Ayurveda is considered as the best solution for kidney disorders without leaving any side effects on the body.

What are the causes of Kidney Disease?

Many causes are known to be responsible for the kidney disease but some of the major causes are as below:

Diabetes: When the blood sugar level increases, the kidney finds it difficult to filter the blood and prolonged persistence of this condition leads to kidney disorder.

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): In the case of high blood pressure, the blood flow increases in the vessels disrupts the function of kidneys and can cause kidney failure.

Having a family history of kidney disease: If any of your blood relatives have kidney disease, the chances are higher that you will be affected by it too.

Age over 60 years: People having more than 60 years of age are at a higher risk of developing kidney disease.

Common Symptoms of kidney disorder

There may be various symptoms when the kidneys are not healthy. But here, we are discussing some of the common symptoms which are generally seen in the kidney patients. These are listed below:

Shortness of Breath: In the case of kidney disease, the waste starts accumulating inside the body; as a result, the patient may feel breath shortness.

Swelling in Feet, Legs & Face: Due to fluid retention, a kidney patient can have swelling in his feet, hands, legs or face.

Nausea & Vomiting: The digestion system of the patient also gets affected due to kidney disorder so he feels nausea or vomiting due to excess waste accumulation in the body.

Persistent Itching: Dry skin and itching is another common symptom which is noticed due to kidney disorder.

Constant Fatigue: A kidney patient feels continuous fatigue even when he has taken enough rest.

When you feel one or more symptoms, there may be chances that you are affected by a kidney disorder. If the condition exists for longer, a patient may lose his life. In order to determine a kidney disease, you will have to undergo some health checkups.

Diagnosis of Kidney Disorders

Some tests which are conducted to determine the kidney disease are as below:

Kidney Ultrasound: If a patient is at the initial stage of kidney disease, the doctor recommends kidney ultrasound which is very useful in detecting changes in the kidney size.

Glomerular Filtration Rate Test: This test helps in determining the blood filtering efficiency of the kidneys. For the initial stages of kidney disease, the test results are almost normal. In that case, other tests like kidney biopsy and kidney ultrasound can be taken to confirm the disease.

Kidney Biopsy: Kidney biopsy is a test in which a tiny tissue of the kidney is taken to understand the kidney damage by examining through a microscope. This test is useful in the later stages of kidney disease.

Urine Test: This test is taken in order to figure out the amount of protein in the urine.

Chest Scan: After the third stage of kidney disease, water deposition in a patient's lungs can occur. In order to detect the water present in a patient’s lungs, Chest scan is carried out.

Blood Test: Blood test helps in understanding the level of waste material in the patient's body as well as his bloodstream.

After the diagnosis of the kidney disease, the next step is to seek the best medical treatment as per the stage of the disease.

What treatments can be taken for kidney disease?

Kidney disease treatment varies as per the stage of the disease. For the initial stage, allopathic doctors recommend some specific sets of medications while for advanced stages dialysis or organ transplant is recommended. Allopathic treatment methods are not only very expensive in nature but also do not give that desired results.
