Older women can lose their unwanted weight just like anyone else can, however, there are a few things that you can do to make it easier.

The food you eat will determine your weight loss more than exercise will. Regardless of how much physical activity you do, if you continue to stuff yourself with high fat, sugar filled, processed junk food, you will only keep your current weight and put on even more. A better diet plan is cutting out all of those foods and eating foods that are suggested in a clean eating diet or the paleo diet. Both diets encourage fresh, whole foods such as lean meats, fruits, and vegetables.

Avoid attempting spot reduction. The infomercials today will have you believe that losing weight is simply a matter of using a sit-up machine. You cannot spot reduce any area of the body so it's best not to waste your time and effort.

You don't have to do a ton of exercise to lose weight. Even as an older woman, a great workout program that burns fat should include weight training. Resistance training builds more muscle. More muscle burns more fat and calories. As a woman, there is no need to worry about becoming bulky so don't be afraid to lift weights!
