Chopta Chandrashila Tungnath Trek with Deorital, Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India

Tungnath is one of the highest Shiva Temples in the World. It is perched at an elevation of 3,680m ( 12,073ft) and located in the mountain range of Tungnath in the Rudraprayag district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Tungnath Trek is a famous trek and counted as the easiest treks in India.
Every year a lot of trekkers do this Tungnath snow trek and experience the breathtaking, and mesmerizing panoramic views of the Himalayas. This trek passes by a lot of small villages located at the top like the Rudraprayag, Devprayag, and the village Sari. Deoriatal Lake in between is the best spot of this trek. The glittering and shimmering waters of the lake look inviting, but the water is freezing cold. Get a chance to explore the forests trails, massive maple, oak and pine trees along the lakeside.
Tungnath trek consists of picturesque waterfalls, greenery, forests trails and amazing snow-covered mountains of the Garhwal Himalayas.
The basecamp for this trek will be Chalkot, a serene lush meadow in Chopta valley.
Do not miss a chance to stay in camps at Chopta Valley. Chopta is also known as the “Mini Switzerland” of Uttarakhand.
Tungnath is famous for Shiva Temple and the trek further takes to the Chandrashila Peak. The Chandrashila summit is located at a height of about 4,000 meters above sea level. This peak provides captivating views of Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpuch, and Chaukhamba Peaks of the Himalayas.
The best time to do this trek starts from April to November as Chopta receives heavy snowfall. Tungnath and Chandrashila are snow-covered from December to March. September to November are the best months to visit and experience the clear views of Himalayan Peaks. The temperature drops down in negatives as the region is all surrounded by snow and remains majorly cold.
