            Buying expensive cell phones is becoming a trend each day, are you an iPhone holder? If yes, then raise say “Me too” if you have accidentally break its screen either by pulling it out of your pockets, landing its ace down on pavement, or due to wearing any slippery gym pants, iPhone slides its way out. This is how we often crack our phone screen

The iPhone 6 with its curved edges, and slippery metal back has no exception even sometimes with a case. It can still land right, where it shatters the entire front. So friends, instead of investing dollars on repair shops to get your LCD display replacement for iPhone, why don’t you do it yourself?

Here, I am going to share some easy DIY steps showing how to do iPhone LCD replacement yourself;

DIY Steps for iPhone LCD Replacement

Firstly, you will need to buy LCD screen. There comes two types of LCD replacements; glass screen, and full front LCD. The simple glass replacement might seem appealing since it hardly cost 15 bucks to buy anything or whatever, yet it’s very difficult to apply

It requires a special piece of equipment usually that heats up the phone, so that you can separate the glass from LCD which is held together by glue. Let’s jump down to steps directly;

 STEPS

  • Undo the two hex screws towards the very bottom of device – next to charging port

  • Always set all tiny screws on white piece of paper, so you will remember which one to use where

  • Now take the suction cup, and stick it on your phone, use pry tool to kind of pry this front LCD off the back

  • Since your phone is cracked, then it might get hard to get good cup suction. Instead, you can take very sharp knife, or wedge in it there. Get it up slowly, when it’s up then use the plastic tool to continue wedging top off and finish the work

  • Once you’ve gotten that off, you need to pull the LCD back, but don’t pull it back too far

  • Make sure not to disturb the attached cables, now do five screws hold in a metal plate which is holding in the cables. Remove the metal plate, put it on white piece of paper
  • You can also take screws and put them next to holes that may come out so you have to be careful. Sometimes, the screws are of actually different sizes and hey have to go back in the exact hole
  • Now, all you have to do is, pop off the cables, they just kinda snap off, and you can use the little plastic prying tool to do that, until you get all four of them off
  • Now, separate screen from the body. While looking at your replacement screen comparing with an old one, you’ll notice few things missing on replacement screen such as; earpiece and home button as well as all of metal backing. This you’ll need to transfer from the old one to the new one

  • Start doing with earpiece, camera, and the section. Undo three screws at the top, remove metal backing, and set it aside

  • Again, with all of your screws next to the holes that they belong to, pull off the camera, and takeout earpiece from underneath, and keep that aside as well

  • Peel all this cable off that is connected with camera. Though it feel bit strange peeling it off, but it will come out easily. Next, you’ll notice there is actually some pieces of plastic up here that are not on replacement screen, take those out as well. First, you’ll take up the one that goes under the camera with a sharp object

  • Take a knife, now you have to do the same thing for the one that goes by the proximity sensor, then take off. Remove metal backing by undoing three screws on back side, and rest three on other back side. At the very bottom, undo the home button by taking off three screws down, and metal piece down here

  • Push the home button out through the bottom, then slowly and carefully peel it like you did with camera and earpieces etc. It’ll eventually come off since it’s kind of little snappy part like cable connectors that will come off as well

  • Now you can easily remove the metal backing. Here, you have all parts off the old screen, get ready to reset them on the new screen.
