1. Take a realistic look at your career

One of the biggest triggers for us to be anxious about something is to expect. We dream of fulfilling wishes, having a good performance, being healthy , beautiful and talented, but we rarely take into account the problems that may arise along the way.

The truth is that the modeling career brings many challenges, and each of them needs to be overcome with down to earth and optimism. So, to overcome anxiety, avoid feeding unrealistic expectations; dream and create goals with a focus on reality.

2. Investigate the triggers that cause anxiety

The anxiety process takes place long before we know it, and by the time we realize it, the symptoms are already there. Thus, it can be challenging to understand what triggers this process and fall into an endless and uncontrolled cycle.

So invest in investigating symptoms. When you feel anxious, notice where that feeling comes from and what causes it to manifest. It can be a matter of insecurity with the image itself, a childhood trauma or the fear of making mistakes.

When the trigger is identified, it is much easier to treat the root of the problem instead of just taking care of the symptoms it causes and, thus, end the anxiety once and for all.

3. Practice self-knowledge and discover yourself

Western culture is not in the habit of encouraging the practice of self-knowledge, as is the case in Asian countries. However, this tool is essential to become stronger, more confident and firm in more stressful situations.

There are many ways to practice self-discovery, as long as you understand that this is an inner search, not an outer one. Meditation is one of the most classic ways to discover. It is important to understand why you react as you react, think and feel, what makes you make certain decisions and what makes you truly happy.

4. Talk to someone you trust

Often, what we need most is to release the feelings that imprison us, such as fears and uncertainties. Talking about our fears out loud makes them seem smaller than we actually painted in our mind.

Therefore, do not think twice about venting to someone you trust, especially your parents, an older brother or a close friend. You will feel much better after that, you bet!

5. Focus your mind on the present moment

Making plans and having goals is important, but the truth is that life is unpredictable and it is not always possible to control events. So, focus your mind on the present moment and understand that a good future depends on the actions we have today.

A good tip is to establish short-term goals, keeping the focus on possible achievements for the moment you are living.

To overcome career anxiety, you need to be kind to yourself and work within your means. Overcoming challenges and overcoming yourself is important, but overloading yourself with demands is not going to get you anywhere.
