It was a dark day in the geographical region of the Indian Ocean. A massive Tsunami hit the coasts of several countries of Southeast Asia in December 2004. The Tsunami was hugely responsible for immense destruction and loss on the rim of the Indian Ocean.

It was a regular day on December 26, 2004. At about 7:59 AM local time, an undersea earthquake with a magnitude of 9.1 hit the coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra.Within the next 7 hours, a tsunami, in fact, a series of massive ocean waves triggered by the earthquake reached the Indian Ocean.

More than 10,000 were reported dead or went missing in Sri Lanka and India, a large number of them from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands
