Malta will play a friendly match against Portugal in June

The Malta National Football Team will play a friendly match against the defending Euro Champions Portugal in June. Fans from around the world can buy Portugal Euro Cup Tickets online.

Bjorn Vassallo, The MFA President announced the news yesterday at a meeting of the MFA Council. The match will be played in Lisbon, just a few days before Portugal begins its campaign to defend its title of Euro Champions at Euro 2020.

Dealing with Ronaldo's strong Portugal will no doubt put Malta's team to the test more than usual as it adapts to a new regime led by new head coach Devis Mangia.

However, Mangia quickly pointed out at a press conference last month that expecting short-term results would be unrealistic for any coach in his position.

The two countries have faced each other a total of 10 times in the past, nine endings in a Portuguese victory and one in a draw. Portugal will also face Germany and recent World Cup winners France and Play-off Winner A or D in the Group F at Euro cup 2020 after the draw for the Bucharest tournament

No date has yet been announced for the Malta-Portugal match but it is expected to be announced by the Portuguese FA in the coming days.

Former Manchester United winger Nani is considering a place in Euro 2020 with Portugal after missing the World Cup two years ago. The winger Nani, who has played 230 games with the Red Devils, currently works in Orlando City in MLS.

The MLS season started last weekend and Nani hopes that good performances in the coming months will see him return to the international fold.

You can see some quality of the next generation of young players, but you know that every time there is a competition, every time there is a World Cup, a European Cup, you need to '' a mixture of a young team and experienced players to meet the difficulty of this competition.

"Sure, it's a possibility, if I do well and I'm at my best, there is a chance to return to the national team, so I hope so!"

Nani last represented Portugal three years ago but was part of the team that won Euro 2016 in France. The Wideman played the full 90 minutes as Portugal defeated France 1-0 after overtime four years ago.
