Hawa Mahal

It is a royal residence in Jaipur, India. Made with the red and pink sandstone, the castle sits on the edge of the City Palace, Jaipur, and stretches out to the Zenana, or ladies' chambers.

The structure was worked in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the grandson of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, who was the author of Jaipur. He was so motivated by the remarkable structure of Khetri Mahal that he assembled this amazing and authentic royal residence. It was structured by Lal Chand Ustad. Its remarkable five stories outside is much the same as the honeycomb of a colony with its 953 little windows called Jharokhas enhanced with mind boggling latticework.

In 2006, remodel takes a shot at the Mahal were attempted, following a hole of 50 years, to give a facelift to the landmark at an expected expense of Rs 4.568 million. The corporate division helped save the chronicled landmarks of Jaipur and the Unit Trust of India has embraced Hawa Mahal to look after it.

The castle is a five-story pyramidal molded landmark that ascents to around 50 feet (15 m). The main three stories of the structure have the width of a solitary room, while the first and second floors have porches before them. The front rise, as observed from the road, resembles a honeycomb with little openings. Every opening has smaller than usual windows and cut sandstone flame broils, finials and vaults. It gives the presence of a mass of semi-octagonal narrows, giving the landmark its interesting façade. The inward face on the rear of the structure comprises of chambers worked with columns and halls with negligible ornamentation, and reach up to the highest floor.
