KISS, better known as Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, has emerged as one of the most reputed names in India when it comes to child welfare programs. They believe that every child has a potential; which needs to be nurtured to get the best out of them. Unfortunately, in India, there are millions of under privileged children, who do not have access to some of the basic necessities of life. Struggling to survive on a daily basis, they are not expected to explore their potential and bring the best out of them! This is where KISS comes into the picture. It is their motto to make these children more capable and self-sufficient. In order to achieve their goal, KISS has collaborated with UNFA, also known as the United Nations Population Fund.

KISS has initiated different types of programs targeted towards rendering the best of education and training to these children. Samarthya is one such program. This program has been designed to instill life skill education for children with disabilities, from different schools in Odisha. They are working in close collaboration with SSEPD, or the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disability; a unit of the Government of Odisha.

KIIT was founded by Dr Achyuta Samanta. Dr Samanta has always believed that the true potential of a nation lies in its children. In order to ensure the prosperity and growth of society; children need to be provided with proper education and support. With this vision in mind; Dr Smanata set up KISS, which has played a commendable role when it comes to empowering children from different sections of the society; who are being deprived of their basic needs. Helping children with physical disabilities has been one of the main objectives of KISS. Right from the day of its foundation, KISS has been working relentlessly to ensure that they lived up to their commitment towards society.

Today, KISS is the home for more than 27,000 tribal children. With world-class infrastructure and most importantly, their desire to serve; KISS has emerged as one of the most respected and reputed names. They are operating in tie-up with different other organizations in order to ensure that these children can be served in a better way.

KISS has played a major role in inspiring millions of underprivileged and disabled children. Instilling self-belief and confidence through education and training is what KISS has been doing.
