Top Five Comic Books in Indianapolis

I've been a huge fan of Indy comic books since I was a kid. Actually, I first became a fan when I read "Spider-Man" as an adult and was blown away by the amazing adventure that the Marvel Comics adventure had to offer. Over the years, I've always treasured the memories that I've had from sitting down with my friends in order to have a comfy discussion about the latest Marvel Comics hit. Now, I'm even getting to enjoy some of the new releases from DC Entertainment, which is a real treat for me. In this article, I'm going to introduce you to some of the various Indy comic reviews that you may have missed in the past.

One of my all time favorite superheros has to be "Mighty Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes." This classic comic book series featured the team of all time and was written and drawn by Kurt Busiek. The series was spectacular, and it remains one of the top five comic books of all time. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't read" Avengers" to give "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" a shot. It's a great series that never goes out of style.

Another fantastic superhero series that I've had the pleasure of reading is "Sensation," written and illustrated by Tony Bedard. Set around the same time as "Avengers" and" Wolverine and the X-Men," "Sensation" is a fantastic follow up on the latter book series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the second installment. I'm looking forward to more from this talented creator.

Another one of my all time favorite comic creators, Frank Miller took his extraordinary "Diesel Power" storyline and crafted a fantastic solo comic series. "Diesel Power" featured the awesome performances from young stars such as Brian Spankey, James Patterson, and Emmannuel Chriqi. This was one of the most dramatic and intense comic books I've ever read. If you're a fan of action, this book is not for you. But if you're a fan of emotional drama with a protagonist as tough as Green Lantern, then this is a mustindie comic reviews.

The ultimate superhero classic, "Carnage of Mind's own," written and illustrated by Grant Morrison is probably the best comic book story ever told. Taking place 100 years after the events of "The Dark Knight," "Carnage of Mind's Own" takes place in New York City and pits the Dark Knight against the iconic supervillain, Bane. This storyline won several awards and is the basis for many future Batman storylines. I especially love the "No Respect" arc, which depicted the darkest and most intense Batman has gone through.

One of my personal favorites in all of Indy comics was "Trade Paper." This was a joint effort between DC comics and the legendary writer Neil Gaiman. In the storyline, an aging professor creates an antihero, an android, to help him solve mysteries that are plaguing both his life and those of the city he lives in. While serving as a means for the professor to hide from his superiors, the android manages to kill two of them before the police catch him. The android then escapes, and he brings along a shotgun and a bomb. This storyline, while far out of the spotlight, is just one that showcases the fantastic artwork that is featured in all of DC comics at this point.

If you live in the Indianapolis area, then you should definitely take a trip to one of the many Indianapolis Comic Books stores. If you aren't sure which one you should buy from, I would recommend going to the store that features the most DC superhero titles. These stores will also offer a wide selection of other titles, including some that are not related to superheroes. Some of the other stores that are worth trying are located inside of historic landmarks around the city.

These days it seems as if there is a new comic store opening every other day. If you have been living in the Indianapolis area, then I strongly suggest that you take the time to check out your local comic book store. You may be surprised at the quantity and diversity of comic books that you will find in these stores. In addition, you might even find new titles that you have never even heard about before!
