Basics of Designing a WordPress Website

There are many components to design a WordPress website. I will close 10 basics when designing a WordPress website.

1. Select the URL and find the host: it is important to find the URL that is not too long and easy to remember to your target market. Try to avoid hyphens and plural names for your URL. Also, choose a.com is for most of your best choices. Also, if possible combining the keywords to use your target market to look for you. After the URL you can choose a hosting provider like a blue host or go daddy. This is where you will host all your files for your website.

2. Install WordPress: After your hosting is ready, you can install the file for the latest version of WordPress. After WordPress is installed, generic templates will be installed automatically for you.

3. Select the theme: Now you can choose the theme you want to use for your website. There are a large number of places to find themes such as elegant themes, Woo Themes, or Studio Press. You have to pay access to the theme but they are very valuable. There are many themes to choose from and you will have unlimited access to support for themes.

4. Configure the theme: From this point, you can configure the theme for display. With some theme providers, they have a tutorial to show how to adjust the theme. If you are truly overwhelmed from this, you can always ask for help someone who offers WordPress web design.

5. Page: Now your theme is customized, you can start building a page on the site. The most commonly used page is a veranda, about us and contact pages. It is important not to flood your visitors with too many pages, but at the same time it becomes a lot of information for your target market to learn more about you and your business.

6. Permalinks: This is how the link is organized for your page and post. So instead of a group of letters and mixed numbers, you will have a page name as your main URL extension.

7. Menu Navigation: It's a good idea to create a special menu so you can control the navigation that appears on your website. You want to make it friendly and easily navigate your site.

8. Branding: This is an important aspect for building a website. You want your brand reflected throughout the site. This includes color, font and header to your site. This branding should not only be consistent on the site but throughout the board on all online and offline material. What I mean is that your branding must look the same on your social network, e-zine, business cards, brochures and all other marketing.

9. Plugin: You want to choose the plugin carefully. Sometimes they can cause your website to break or make other parts of your site not function. First and especially ensure they are compatible with the latest version of WordPress. You also don't want to overestimate your site by having too many active plugins. One plugin that I highly recommend is the SEO plugin all in one. This is good for search engine optimization, which took me to my last point.

10. SEO and Analytics: Now your site is set, you want to start working on your SEO. This is very important to do. Start working on this for all pages, posts, and the main site itself. After you have important things discussed, you want to install Google Analytics so you can trace your statistics.
