We all need sleep at least one time in a day. No matter how peacefully or unpeacefully we get that sleep, but sleeping is critical to our growth, for our physical as well as emotional well-being. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine always pays emphasis on having a good sleep during the night. Sleeping requirements for an infant, a toddler, a child and an adult will vary. Infants are supposed to sleep at least 15 hours in a day. If they do not sleep, their growth will be hindered. Teenagers need good and sufficient sleep to avoid any kind of health risks of insufficient sleep.

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine issued certain recommendations regarding the sleeping requirements over a period of 24 hours for all individuals. Look at the below information:

Infants up to 12 months should sleep for 12-16 hours, this time includes naps as well.

Children of one to two years old should sleep for 11 to 14 hours including their nap times.

Children of three to five years need to sleep for at least 10 hours including naps.

Children of six to 12 years should sleep for nine to 12 hours.

Lastly, teenagers of 13 to 18 years of age should sleep for 8 to 10 hours.

These recommendations are approved by a panel of experts and they have insisted everyone participating in the project ensure that their children sleep for such respective time. it is only because people do not sleep for the required time and they face problems in life.
