Website Security Scanner

Web Security Scanner are simple automated tools that scan various web applications, usually on the internet, to detect security weaknesses including Cross-site scripting vulnerability, SQL injection, XSS, HTTP header injection and insecure server configuration. Web application security scanners are also known as web security complete software application scanners. A number of manufacturers have bundled web scanning applications with their web security suite. For the maximum security a comprehensive web security scanner should be used.

When scanning a web application each of the security weaknesses has to be detected and reported. Many scanners cannot detect all the possible vulnerabilities. Therefore an appropriate web application scanning tool should be used. Most commercial scanners are based on Sun's Open Source libraries which is a limited capability library. This limitation of commercial scanners reduces their reliability and security

On the other hand many web application security tools are based on commercial solutions from major corporations. They use different scanning technologies based on different operating systems like Windows, Linux, MacOS and Unix. The scanning technology employed by commercial solutions may not always be in accordance with the security requirements of the target web application. Therefore they may fail to detect vulnerabilities that could lead to system security compromise.

Commercial solutions that provide MACINT network intelligence capability include Network Monitor for Windows and Macintosh on-premises. Network Monitor is an example of a commercial SaaS for Windows commercial solution. It is a web-based tool that reports on any exploited security vulnerability and the details of the affected application. MACINT network intelligence gathered from this information can help a security team to determine the scope of an exploited vulnerability before it is made accessible to the general public. It can also help a security team to determine if a particular vulnerability is of interest to the organization. Network Monitor for Windows is available for purchase from Microsoft.

Another security commercial tool is Neat for Linux. It is a web-based tool that provides detailed information about any discovered vulnerability in Linux. Neat for Linux comes with a limited capacity of up to four hosts. It can be run on a single computer or on a cluster of computers. It can be run in conjunction with commercial SaaS solutions like Network Monitor for Windows.

There are other security commercial tools for Windows OS. For example, Intellisense for Windows OS provides automated detection and tracking of security flaws in Windows. It also allows the integration of other external applications like commercial, open source software like OpenSSH. This application can be integrated with Network Monitor for Windows.

In contrast, open source for Linux can be used in conjunction with commercial SaaS products like Network Monitor for Mac. These products can also perform automated security detection and monitoring for Linux servers. It also includes a graphical user interface for managing security features. This product provides an out-of-the-box solution for the monitoring of a Linux server.

There are different types of commercial security scanners available for different operating systems. These products vary in terms of capabilities, pricing and in features. Users must make their decision based on needs and budget. The user must choose among the following security commercial scanners available for Windows users:

Windows XP Home Edition is one of the most widely used operating systems. However, it lacks some important capabilities that may be required by an organization in its security management. Microsoft has released commercial solutions that can address these issues. Security Suite from Microsoft includes several commercial products including a web-based Intrusion Detection System (IDSS), which is a very powerful security commercial tool that can be integrated with other Windows programs. Advanced Security Guard is another powerful IDS that works well with Windows XP Home Edition.

One of the best Internet security products is the commercial scanner called Quick Detection. With this product, an organization can scan the system and spot intrusions before they result in major damage. The web-based commercial tools from NetIQ, iDefense, and Norton are available at no cost to the customer.

All these products have many features that enable users to identify intruders in a short period of time. Quick Detection scans the entire system for known intruders, then categorizes them into categories such as spam, viruses, and other security threats. Based on the findings of the commercial tool, specific security measures can be put into place. In addition to this, users can set the parameters of the scanning, so as to scan only certain files or folders, or scan for all files. One of the best features of NetIQ and other similar products is the scheduling feature, which enables the users to perform scans according to their convenience.
