Get to know the best gun safety locks

Yes, when we hear the word Gun, it sends a chill down the spine in most of us. More so, if we hear that the gun is loaded and is in the wrong hands. Statistics show that every hour, a child is injured in the US due to the gun in his hands and his unintentional firing. By this, one can well imagine how real the threat is. But there are ways to get over these troubles- have you heard of safety bullets and trigger locks? Trigger locks are best used on unloaded guns and it’s well imaginable how useful an unloaded gun will be in case the gun is required to be used in a second’s time. Now let’s take a look at these best gun safety locks that may prevent a gun from going off due to unintentional firing:

Safety Bullets:

Here, safety bullets are placed in the chamber of the gun and lock the gun when the trigger is pulled by jamming the slider. Generally, two safety bullets are used, just in case one doesn’t serve the purpose. Safety bullets prevent the use of the gun in case of suicide attempts by persons other that the owner of the gun and also when the gun is in the hands of an intruder. To use the gun with the safety bullets in place, just rack them out. These bullets can be used in 9mm, 357, 38 spec, 40 cal, 44 mag, and 45 ACP guns.

Biometric Lock:

In this type of lock, the entire trigger area is covered without hampering the grip of the gun. This lock uses three fingerprints, preferably two yours and the other one of someone else.  Once unlocked, the gun can be ready to use within three seconds, the time generally taken to pull the gun from the holster. With this lock, the gun can be put in a magazine while still locked, but the gun cannot be used by left-handed shooters. This best gun safety lock is quite durable and is made for models like Smith & Wesson 1911, Remington 1911, Colt 1911, Rugger 1911, etc.

Cable Gun locks:

Cable Gunlock is another best gun safety lock. According to users, this is one of the most secure gun locks. Running the cable through the gun can make one feel that the gun is not loaded and with it, transporting firearms is quite trouble-free. Children can also have a safe time with the gun with this lock in the gun. One drawback that this gun has is that it takes a bit of time to remove, making the gun unusable at an instant.

Keyed Trigger Locks

With this lock attached, the gun cannot be discharged.  It fits in front of the trigger through the trigger guard in a way that the trigger cannot be easily engaged. In a better key lock trigger guard, there is a four-pin tumbler to prevent lock picking. For durability, this lock comes with a steel zinc body. If one gets more than one lock, it is good to have matching keys. As in the case of Cable Gunlock, the gun cannot be instantly used in this type of lock being used. If children somehow get hold of the keys, this lock will no longer be safe. Also, dropping the gun may sometimes cause it to fire. The Master Trigger lock has a rubber cushion to protect the gun, is quite strong, and lasts long.

Combination Trigger Lock

It is similar to the Keyed Trigger Lock, but here one uses a combination instead of keys to unlock the lock. And, the combination is resettable. But is difficult to use the gun in the dark and dropping it may also cause it to fire.
