Expert Tips That Work To Give the Best Virtual Presentations

Virtual presentations have become the norm in today’s pandemic world. All the expert virtual presenters very well know the importance of adjusting their approach to match the medium.

Here we have shared some expert tips that will help for success in your next zoom meeting PowerPoint:

Get the Right Lighting: It is essential that people can see you well. Make sure the light shines brightly on your face. Close the shades if your back is to a window. Natural light is often considered the best choice.

Choose the Appropriate Background: Try to use a background aligned with your message and enhance your professional image at the same time. Avoid anything that can be distracting.

Be Aware of the Technology: A presenter who fumbles with the technology kills the entire presentation. Dont forget to practice with the same technical setup (computer and internet connection) that you will be using while delivering the zoom meeting PowerPoint.

Play to the Camera: Look directly into your computer’s camera when you are the one speaking, not on the screen or at the other participants. This makes the viewer feel as if you are looking right at them.

Try To Get Close: Don’t lose that connection with the audience by being too far away, but also don’t cover your face to take over the whole screen because that looks weird. Dont forget to practice your positioning and distance beforehand.

Avoid slouching away: If possible, use a standing desk or position your laptop so you can stand at eye level with your computer as it provides a higher energy level. Lean forward as you would if you were a TV news anchor if you want to sit. Try to avoid slouching away from the camera, as this gives a feeling that you are disconnected from your audience.

Be Energetic: Present with a little energy and animation, just as in a live presentation. It makes it easy for folks to disengage and tune out when there is too slow or too monotone in your voice. It requires you actually to be engaging for keeping people engaged virtually.

Be at the Right Pace: Don’t pump up the speed too much even though you want to infuse energy into your presentation. Practice slowing down just a bit if you tend to be a fast talker in real life and vice versa.

Do A Sound Check Before: People will easily tune out if your sound is garbled. They will leave if they can’t hear you. Make sure your sound is clear.

Enhance After Evaluating: Record your virtual presentation sessions and take the time to look for areas that worked well and areas that need improvement. Try to hone your craft continually.

Have Fun and Be Yourself: Audiences always connect to authenticity, so be yourself, just like in face-to-face presentations. Show your personality through. If it looks like you’re enjoying the presentation, then others will too.

Remember, all presentations are performances, whether you are presenting in-person or virtually, which is an in-service to your audience. Honor your audience's time by delivering the best presentation possible.

You must find ways to create authentic audience connections, engagement, and value no matter what kind of presentations you are giving.
