The Best Way to Build Muscle

There are many different ways that you can get the best way to build muscle. Cardio is an important component of any muscle building program, but it really is not the be all and end all. Although cardio can certainly enhance your overall physical fitness and assist in the development of new muscle, strength training is still the way to build the most muscle mass possible.

When you're performing strength training exercises you are essentially trying to force your muscles to grow by utilizing heavier weights and increasing reps over time. Squats are the classic muscle builder and there are a number of different ways to perform them. One of the most popular variations is the regular barbell squat where you lift the bar with your legs then return it to the ground before repeating. Another variation is known as the close grip barbell squat where you grip the bar with your fingers and knees instead of your hands. Another variation of the squat is known as the one arm dumbbell squat where you alternate standing as if you were doing dead lifts while keeping both arms straight with a slight bend in the elbow.

The concept behind building muscle is simply the fact that you need more calories than your body can burn to keep your body in good shape. This can be accomplished by eating more than your normal intake of calories in a given day, but there is something else that needs to be done as well. You need to eat enough calories and that means that you need to eat often enough to compensate for how many calories you may be burning through your daily activity. One pound of muscle can be gained from eating three times as much calories as your normal intake of calories.

Diet and nutrition are also another extremely effective way to build body mass. There are many people who are completely clueless when it comes to diet and nutrition. There are many people who believe that you just have to eat whatever you want and that there is no correlation between what you eat and the results you see in your body. The truth of the matter is that eating often and not eating enough is a major contributor to how effectively you build muscle. By eating often and choosing the right foods, you can help your body to process calories faster so that they are stored as muscle instead of fat.

One other very important factor that is often overlooked is cardio training. By including cardio exercises in your routine you can greatly increase your chance for fat loss and muscle gain. Aerobic activity such as running, biking, swimming, and other forms of cardio will improve your heart and lungs while at the same time helping to improve your metabolism. The faster your metabolism becomes the more calories you will burn which is what you need to feed your growing muscles.

So now that you have learned some of the most important components of building muscles through your cardio and diet programs, you should know which activities are best to focus on when trying to build muscles. As always make sure to discuss these new fitness strategies with your doctor before beginning any new fitness program. As always, consult with your family doctor if you are not healthy enough to participate in a rigorous cardio workout. With a little hard work and the correct cardio exercise you will soon achieve the body of your dreams.
