There are some tips you should keep in mind to keep your eyes healthy and beautiful. Most of us go through our day with tired eyes that may be straining our eyes or even puffing out our eyelids. It is difficult for anyone to concentrate on anything when their eyes are strained, red and teary. Here are a few tips to improve your eyesight:

Sleep well. If you don't sleep properly, the body cannot rest and heal itself properly. When you are not sleeping well, the body will start to stress and make the muscles work harder. This in return will strain the eyes. So, it is important that you get at least eight hours of sleep a night.

Some tips to take care of your eyes while cooking. Use glasses when watching television rather than eating while watching TV. Avoid squinting when reading and avoid heavy books and magazines on your reading table. These tips to take care of your eyes while cooking will help you see better when you are eating and studying.

Some tips to take care of your eyes while exercising. Taking part in some sports or other physical activities helps to strengthen the eye muscles and makes them more flexible. Exercising also keeps the eyes working and alert, which in turn helps to prevent them from becoming dried, dull and wrinkled. Try and wear glasses if you have worn yours for quite sometime. They may not provide much of a vision enhancement but they sure can make you look much more beautiful and younger.

Try and avoid smoking. Smoking causes damage to the cells of the eye and damages vision greatly. This in turn makes the eyes look unhealthy and unattractive. If you need a little incentive to stop smoking, just picture how beautiful your face will look like after you have removed all the wrinkles from your eyes. It is difficult to see the damage caused by smoking in the eye and the sight will be clouded and will not be as clear as it should be.

Do not use too many products on your eyes. Some items like eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow and other cosmetics can clog the pores in the skin around your eyes. When they are applied too frequently, they cause dirt and grime to enter into the pores, which results in a clogged pore. This results in blemishes and blackheads. You could end up with ugly looking eyes that will not be pretty to look at.

Avoid the risk of using makeup that contains harmful chemicals. Some of the chemicals in makeup can irritate the skin and lead to unwanted problems. Some of them contain harmful alcohol, which is an ingredient that dries out the skin. This can lead to wrinkles and damage around the eye area.

So when you want to care for your eyes healthy and beautiful, remember to keep them away from the harmful effects of cosmetics and other products. Choose ones made from all natural ingredients. These ingredients will not dry out the skin and will not irritate the skin.

Try not to use your contacts all the time. Your contact lens needs to breathe and release moisture. If it doesn't, then the lens will build up a condensation on the eye lid and can stick on the skin. This is very common especially with some brands of contact lens. Some people also experience smudges under their eyes while wearing contacts which is a normal occurrence.

Do not scratch your eyes when you need to care for your eyes healthy and beautiful. When you scratch the skin around the eye, it can open up the skin and cause more damage. Scratching can lead to infections and even blindness. It is best to keep your hands away from your face.

Make sure that you don't pinch, squeeze, pick or exfoliate your eye. There are four skin layers starting at the outer most edge of the eye socket. If you pinch, you will damage this layer. And if you squeeze, you will create more folds and this will cause additional skin to be exposed. Exfoliating is one way to get rid of dead skin cells and smooth the surface of the eye. But, too much exfoliation can make your eyes look older than what they are.

Always hydrate your skin after you finish swimming or sweat. Your skin will appear more nourished and smooth. It will also minimize fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes.
