Key Guide To An Effective Scalp Micro Pigmentation

You may have heard of brow reshaping. Did you know that your scalp has similar practices? If not, then read this article.

Scalp micro pigmentation or SMP creates the illusion of fuller hair. But what is the difference between scalp micro pigmentation and micro-blading? Micro-pigmentation though they both fall into micro pigmentation, [microblading and micropigmentation] are very different methods of implanting pigments. Although microblade are generally made from manual blades, electric tattoo equipment is used for micro pigmentation. This is because more force is required to penetrate the skin of the scalp, which is thicker than the skin under the eyebrows.

How Does SMP Work, And Who Can Benefit From It?

The goal of scalp micro pigmentation is not to create hair-like lines like when trimming the eyebrows but to use tiny layered dots of different shades of black to replicate the appearance of shadows on the scalp. This style, called pointillism, is for creating natural depth and clarity.

Well-trained professionals will work hard to ensure that these dots look like a natural hair follicle and blend seamlessly with your skin tone. This process is helpful for people who experience various forms of hair loss. This includes people with the following diseases:

  • Cancer
  • Hair loss
  • Thinning hair
  • Male and female pattern baldness

Does It Hurt? How Is The Process?

So, how painful is this process? The short answer is that it depends.

Before the operation, your scalp micro pigmentation doctor will apply a local anesthetic on your scalp. Please note that there may still be some troubles. However, the degree of discomfort depends largely on your tolerance for pain.

People with acne or other sensitive skin (such as psoriasis) on the scalp should avoid getting PMS during an outbreak or outbreak because it is challenging to apply pigment to the inflamed area. If you are prone to keloid scars, which are more common in dark skin, you may not be suitable for SMP.

Once you have completed your research and searched for responsible and well-trained SMP artists (more on doing this below), you may have an initial inquiry. During this meeting, your doctor will prepare for you in advance what will happen and how to prepare.

Here are some general guidelines one can follow for an effective treatment:

  • Shower before each treatment. You will not be able to cleanse or wet your scalp (including excessive sweating) for four days after each appointment.
  • Each treatment usually lasts four to five hours.
  • The number of treatments you need depends on the number of scalps receiving SMP. Even if it's just a tiny area like a widow's peak, it still takes three to four treatments to keep it for a long time because SMP is a color layering process. The treatment will be scheduled for a few weeks.

Common Suggestion To Maintain A Practical Scalp Micro Pigmentation Treatment

  • In the few weeks between treatments, do not go swimming, use steam baths or saunas, and do not take overheated showers that may cause steam storms.
  • Avoid exposing the scalp to the sun for the first four days (a hat is good). On the fifth day after the treatment, you can uncover the treated skin to the sun for one hour, or if your skin is very light, you can expose it to the sun for 45 minutes.
  • But keep in mind that less exposure to sunlight in the treatment area means better long-term retention.

Simply follow the above guidelines and add more as prescribed by the micro-pigmentation expert. You will get the best result without any doubt.
