Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon Review: An Ultrabook that is Both Compact and Powerful

Lenovo’s Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is a decent, lightweight laptop with the specs you’d expect from a solid business and top-tier student laptop. The Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is a versatile travel companion thanks to its sleek design, excellent battery life, and ultra-lightweight yet robust build. Lenovo’s Yoga series of Ultrabook has given customers thin and light laptops with the greatest levels of performance and productivity. In the blog post, we have mentioned Lenovo’s Yoga Slim 7i Carbon features, specs, and display for you.

Yoga Slim 7i Carbon Design and Display

The design of the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is very attractive. The matte white coating on the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon compliments the basic design nicely. Fingerprints and smudges are kept to a minimum by the finish. The matte white finish, on the other hand, looked sharp and stylish. A Lenovo logo is engraved beneath the keyboard and on the lid, and the Yoga branding is also visible on the lid.

This laptop incorporates both of those design elements, with a plastic and carbon-fiber approach that results in a laptop that is around 1.5cm thin and weighs under a kilo. At 966 grams, the Slim 7i Carbon is hardly imperceptible. In addition, the laptop incorporates a 180-degree hinge which allows it to rest flat on a surface. The Yoga Slim 7i Carbon’s overall appearance and build quality are excellent, and there’s a lot to like about this. In terms of Laptop display, it can range from awful to acceptable to great, but we’re more used to seeing Full HD displays with less-than-ideal color and viewing angles.

Lenovo has gone a step further with the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon’s 13.3-inch 2560×1600 Quad HD IPS display, which supports Dolby Vision regardless of price. That’s a smart choice because it means you’ll receive a sharp screen with vibrant colors that cover the entire sRGB color range. The screen bezels are also extremely thin, measuring only 3mm, making them quite pleasing to the eye.

Yoga Slim 7i Carbon Performance

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon can be set up with an 11th Gen Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of NVMe PCIe SSD storage for performance. The Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor was combined with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD in our model. The processor also includes Intel’s newest integrated Iris Xe graphics.

Yoga Slim 7i Carbon Battery

You can feel that one of the drawbacks of this tiny design is a battery that doesn’t perform well, but depending on your needs, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon holds its own. Lenovo’s premium ultrabook has a 50Whr 3-cell battery that can last up to 13 hours, according to the company. I got roughly 8 hours of battery life out of the laptop after turning down the brightness to 40%. The thin and light design perfectly complements the battery life, making it an excellent travel companion.

Yoga Slim 7i Carbon Specs and Features

Inside the laptop, there is an Intel Core i5 11th-generation CPU (1135G7), and if you have the cash, you may upgrade to a Core i7. There are three USB Type C ports on this laptop, two on the left side and one on the right side, just next to a 3.5mm headset jack, and the power button is also present on the right side of the laptop. Wireless connections are also adequate, with Bluetooth and 802.11/a/b/g/n/ac/ax WiFi 6 supporting wireless networking.

A 720p camera with infrared and Time of Flight sensors sits immediately above a screen worth talking about, which is useful because Windows Hello is incorporated for touchless login. The trackpad is tall and wide, and the keyboard is large. Its keyboard is backlit, which is a nice touch, but the keys are incredibly springy and sometimes offer too much traction, so it lacks the hard feelings we desire from a keyboard. It’s adequate but not exceptional and far from the quality of Lenovo’s ThinkPad PCs.

In the End

Lenovo makes a case for what is generally an excellent machine if you’re searching for an ultra-light computer, even if the entry-level specs we tested feel like they could be a little better. There is so much about the laptop to like. The Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is lightweight and features a touchless login as well as a bright screen, which isn’t something you can claim about every laptop. If you’re looking for a machine to help you go through your day-to-day tasks without you having to think about it, this is the best machine for you.
