An A-Cast is a type of thermoplastic splint that is made from resin and plastic and is used to hold the bones in place while healing.

The A-Cast consists of two parts: top and bottom. The top part has an inner layer to hold the acrylic resin, which helps it remain flexible. The bottom part has a protective film with adhesive properties that helps it adhere to the patient's teeth and gums. An oxygen permeable membrane also covers each side of the cast, which prevents bacteria from contacting the patient's bloodstream during the healing process.
