All You Need To Design a Memoriam/Memorial Program

Memorial cards are portable cards that contain a photo, information such as date of birth & address, and favorite poems and sayings of a loved one in their remembrance.

Memorial and Memoriam are words that are used interchangeably to describe what is effectively the same thing. Sometimes they are also called memory cards too.

In general, the card has to have a strong theme and design to go along with that concept, like a scenic and religious theme. This allows us to cover most of the typical methods without too many categories. After you've decided on the card you want, the following step is to determine what to put on each page.

Page 1 (Outside Front)

On the outside of standard memorial cards, there is usually a photo or design, depending on the subject and design you select from our memorial brochure template collection. Along with this, there is generally a heading of your choice; we have a list of some of the more common possibilities for you to pick from, but you can also include your custom heading.

There is also the option of having a photo of the deceased on the front of the card; if you want this and are ordering through our website, you can upload the additional photo and tell us where you want it in the information box. There are no additional fees for including images on the memorial card.

Page 2 (Inside Left)

I think you could call this page the primary page or the most important page of the memorial card because it has the deceased's photo as well as all of the vital information such as name and dates.

Photo: To begin, the top of the page is usually where the main photo of the deceased is placed, and there are several framing possibilities.

Primary Heading: Similar to the front page, it is typical to include a main heading beneath the photo; you can choose from our list of headings or supply your own. You can also leave this out if you choose.

Deceased Name: The deceased name is typically listed under the main heading; traditionally, it is just the first and surname, but it is also somewhat common for the maiden name or a nickname to be included.

Address: There is an option under the name to put the deceased's address; to be honest, I'd say less than half of our clients include it, but it is always an option to have if you choose. You can have the address in whatever way you choose, and there is also space to put previously resided locations or nations.

Dates: The next step usually is to include the dates you want on the card. Depending on the dates you want on the card, there are various ways it can be formatted.

Short Verse: A short verse is normally placed beneath the date. It's also not a problem if you don't want any.

Page 3 (Inside Right)

A long verse is usually placed on the inside right, which would be page three, regarding the running order.

Page 4 (Outside Back)

Page 4 is the same as page 3, where another long stanza will be placed.

Conclusion
