The Best Ways to Enjoy Brisbane to The Fullest

Brisbane is one among Australia’s major cities and is the proud capital of the state of Queensland. Being one of the most rapidly growing cities in the country, Brisbane is often regarded as one of the best places to live on Earth. There are numerous attractions and landmarks that have made it a tourist hub including numerous beaches, museums, art galleries, botanic gardens, the iconic Story Bridge and many more. The year round warm weather and riverside location has also contributed significantly in inviting tourists and travellers from around the globe. If you're visiting Brisbane for the very first time, it is recommended that you stay for at least 7 days to fully grasp the city’s vibrant culture. With so much to do and so little time, here is a brief overview to help you to navigate between some of the best places and things to do in the city.

Sightsee on a cruise on the Brisbane River

Being one of the longest rivers in South-East Queensland, the Brisbane River makes its way through the city and thus makes for spectacular views and outdoor activities. The best way to make use of the city’s waterfront location is by boarding a boat cruise in Brisbane and taking in the fascinating sights of the famous landmarks such as the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Story Bridge, parklands and other historical landmarks. Seize this opportunity to snap some amazing photographs of you and your friends set against these stunning river views.  The Brisbane River cruises are the easiest way to witness some of the top attractions of the city at once making it easier for you to focus on your favourite spots so that you can visit them later on. Most of the cruises offer complimentary food and drinks and some of them with live entertainment as well so be sure to pick a vessel tailored to your needs and wants.

Have a picnic or BBQ at New Farm Park

New Farm Park has everything you look for in a park and its proximity to the city attracts more than 18000 guests every week from all over the world. The city-owned park is one of Brisbane’s oldest, largest and grandest parks, spanning over 37 acres and is a popular spot among families and friends who gather on weekends to relax and catch up under the shades of the trees. Bring your own picnic items and use the free barbeque facilities designated in various spots around the park. People who visit the town stop by here most of the time to chill near the rotunda which offers free live music and other events throughout the year. So if you haven't bought any picnic items with you do not fret as these events will have you easily occupied for some time.

Get Inspired at the QAGOMA (Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art)

Located in the South bank of Brisbane, The Queensland Art Gallery, is a brilliant and free art museum encompassing arts from around the world, with a special focus on Australia, the Pacific and Asia. Together both of the museums have more than 1700 works that reflect the history, traditions and cultural significance of the land on which the museum sits, its original descendants and their contributions to the world of art. These galleries are recipients of some of the highest accolades and are sure to spark some high-spirited conversations among art lovers. The exhibitions here are subjected to change over period so it's advised to check on the official website to know more but the permanent ones include international and Asian collection of classic and contemporary works, some indigenous Australian collection and some dramatic sculptures. You can also visit the Australian Cinematheque that runs films around the world so make sure to check it out as well.
