Top Places to Escape the Buzzing City of Sydney

Sydney is one of the luxurious and lively cities on the planet and you are unlikely to run out of things to do and see in this vast city of Australia. This sun-soaked capital set on the waterfront offers countless outdoor activities that will guarantee an eventful day out but sometimes some of us also crave for some peace and calmness. In a diverse city like Sydney, you don’t need to travel far to experience such tranquillity. Check out these few places where you can visit alone or with company.

The beautiful aquatic playground that is Sydney Harbour is home to some of the biggest landmarks in Australia but it also houses some top getaways. Cruising is a great option to achieve peace of mind while taking in the relaxing vibes of the pristine waters and its calmness. You can spot a harbour cruise with lunch offering some top quality dishes as you cruise past the best Sydney icons. The authentic paddlewheeler, a top cruise in the harbour, is perfect for travellers of all kinds and it offers up-close views of the harbour attractions including the Opera House and Harbour Bridge and many and more from its wrap-around verandahs. After exploring the theatre style interiors and harbour views, you can savour a freshly cooked buffet and pair it with some sparkling drinks and beverages, available from the onboard bar. A Sydney Harbour lunch cruise with the scenic views and sumptuous menu along with a friendly service is one of the easiest getaways in the city.

Beaches are one of the most treasured gems of Sydney and while the more reputed ones like Bondi are often crowded, there are some hidden beaches which are perfect for a quiet getaway from the buzzing of the city. Wattamolla Beach was a hidden gem in the Royal National Park but as of recently the word is getting out. This cove is located 30kms away from Sydney’s CBD and during your drive here you can see endless rows of trees and other natural landscapes on the sides of the road. The location is absolutely stunning with waterfalls and lagoon in one direction and  views of the head in the other. It is the perfect place to while away in the chill lagoons on a sunny day or have a quiet picnic on the waterfront.

Located in the Royal National Park, Wedding Cake Rock or White Rock is a remarkable rock formation known for its epic white appearance and brittle nature. It is one of the main tourist attractions of Marley Beach and is what most people term as the most ‘Instagrammable” place to visit. The summit of this white limestone offers views of the endless ocean and sitting on the edge of the rock and taking in the views of the waves crashing onto the rocks below is truly a breathtaking experience.
